phew! finally got everything packaged up and working. The last thing I worked on was the inventory system, and I had no idea how difficult it turned out to be. I was certainly tempted to cut corners but pushed on and tried to keep to the DX look and feel as much as possible. And yet I'm still not finished with it, still some cosmetic things to be worked out however I think you may just enjoy seeing the mod for yourselves to squash the skepticism :)

On a side note, TES IV: Oblivion arrives today so don't hope to see any more updates for a while :)

Right, I downloaded it last night, forgot to post here. Haven't tried it out, large RAR file. My PC for UT2004 lies on the shelf in a number of parts, so I'm waiting a bit. New screenshot up too.

Oblivion comes out 24th of march here, and according to Amazon.de, it also gets released the 24th in Germany, don't know about Switzerland btw...

Well, look at the bright side: at least you get the new "Siedler 2" before I do, ah, hell, maybe not, I'll just drive over the border to Kleve and get a german copy :D

I had to make some serious adjustments to the contrast, but I managed to get two ingame screenshots :D

Image
"I can see you, you are like a thief on the roof!"

Image
"OMFG! Cathedral!"

And the same shots (more or less) in the Deus Ex engine:

"I can see you, you are like a thief on the roof!"

"OMFG! Cathedral!"

When HDTP and TNM come out, I'll have to get used to the fact that I won't have the Redeemer at my disposal 8)

lol, you're free to port our mods to the Unreal 2 engine if you like. We won't stop you, you know.

Scwhing!

I should probably hit him up for the website design position...
*reachs for his beating stick*

Bad Kale first off 2003 used unreal engine 2.0 and this is a 2004 mod (Unreal Engine 2.5) and second its called Unreal Engine #.#. and 3rd technicly DX was alredy on UE2 (but that WAS a bad sequel)

>_>

thouse aren't the same shots well unless the mod will support mutators for edit mods

By 'the same shots' I meant the same location :)

I think it would be less work to port the redeemer to TNM than to port TNM to DX:reborn :P

Dunno why, but my screenshots of Deus Ex always turn out terrible like that, which is especially annoying when I'd like to show off differences in video quality using FSAA etc. I know the OpenGL updated renderer has a line about screenshot gamma correction, but I don't believe that worked for me. If anyone knows how, it would be good for comparisons of DX with DX:R and HDTP.

I've heard that if you use fraps to take screenshots it will eliminate the darkness problem. I have yet to try this myself though heh.

When taking screenshots in Deus Ex, you should either turn your in-game gamma all the way up to 1.00 or use the command 'sshot' to take the shot. The sshot command comes with a built-in flash that temporarily maximizes your gamma. Only downside is the command will be visible at the bottom of the shot :)

Using fraps did indeed work around the gamma problem :)

Nice cathedral, just imagine how it would look with HDTP installed \:D/
