So yeah, it messed up my trip to Norway, and it looked good doing it. Bravo, Eyjafjallajökull, well played.

Let's just hope Katla doesn't get inspired for an eruption of its own, yeah? :P

Heh, the poor tourists, (trying to get home to Europe), stranded at the airports here were not concerned about it's aesthetics either. :P

There's a spectacular one taken from space but it would take up too much room on the forum for the effect to be properly shown.

Holy shit! I just read that Eyjafjallajökull is known as Katla's 'little sister'. It also went on to say when Eyjafjallajökull blows Katla does as well.

Katla also has a much cooler name.

Good thing it's been keeping quiet this time though. Enough is enough, yeah?

Sure, I like the pictures but it would be better all round if the volcanoes took a big dose of antacid. There's one in the same region as where Krakatoa blew that volcanologists are keeping a close eye on as well.

You shouldn't say that. You'll just jinx it and then it'll erupt and stop air travel for 2 years.

But that would make the sky look quite clear and nice.
Paul, I know you said no phone messages, but South Street's going up in smoke. We'll have to meet at the subway station.

At least it'll feed the plants.

Wait, planes are good for plants as the plants need CO2 to photosynthesize.

So either way the plants win.

Can we get the same deal with ferking telephones? That wouldn't work I suppose, the charities and telemarketers would only double their efforts when things got back on line.

Easy for you to say, you didn't have to go to Oslo on a goddamn cruise ship on the chance your plane might be grounded. So now I've paid for the plane and the ship. Norwegian better refund my bloody plane tickets, or I will be quite agitated :P

I like how most images of Iceland have no frozen H2O in the picture.

Iceland is green, Greenland is icy.

This is basic knowledge that someone who has passed through kindergarten (or the local equivalent) should know.

I suppose I should make a caveat. There is, after all, the possible exception of someone whose history (both personal and national) is not in any way related to the Atlantic Ocean. Given the scope of European colonialism and trade I'm not sure that any such people exist in places with internet access.
