Happy tenth anniversary Deus Ex
Wow, how time flies. Thanks for all the fun.

Wow.... I possibly cannot write any sort of decent length post to commemorate this occasion without descending into a rant, but this day shall not be tarnished by such a thing. Instead, I offer three cheers: Share & Enjoy.
Huzzah for Deus Ex! Huzzah for the best FPSRPG since the dawn of time! Huzzah for excellence!

Well if this doesn't warrant another playthrough of DX, then I don't know what does.

hb dx
Bravery is not a function of firepower.
My "Deus Ex - Conspiracy" run on emulator
Alex Jacobson: They'll have you killed. They won't even blink an eye.
JC Denton: Neither did I.

With the HDTP, New Vision, and the excellent new exe, it's a case of "everything old is new again".AgentSmithereens wrote:Well if this doesn't warrant another playthrough of DX, then I don't know what does.

Apparently, DX was actually first released june the 23rd: http://web.archive.org/web/200202250049 ... 062300.htm
Also, other evidence, but I'm too lazy to look it up.

Paul, I know you said no phone messages, but South Street's going up in smoke. We'll have to meet at the subway station.

Matters not, it's the 23rd where I am.gamer0004 wrote:Apparently, DX was actually first released june the 23rd: http://web.archive.org/web/200202250049 ... 062300.htm

Seriously, I can't think of anything to say other than Holy fkn shit, my name is in a datacube in that building just outside Area 51 where you see Walton Simmons for the last time before you kill him at the end. My name is in a datacube!
This is the datacube(my name is at the top!):
<COMMENT>Security computer code to open bunker doors</COMMENT>
Yusef:
They've jammed all communications, even narrow band microcasts, so this is the
only way I could pass a message to you. I don't know who these guys
are - they're not ours, not any of ours I've ever seen at least - but they're
slaughtering us. I managed to hack the first layer of the Dreamland systems,
but the best I could do was lock the bunker doors and reroute control to the
security console in the tower. Should take them awhile to figure that one
out, and the moment they do I'll nail the first bastard that sticks his head
out of the hole. If something happens to me, the login is "a51" and the
password is "xx15yz".
BTW, be careful - a squad made it out before I managed to lock the doors: they
headed for the warehouse and then I lost contact with them.

The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.

Re: Happy tenth anniversary Deus Ex
That too
I'm just listening to Game Central Podcast about Deus Ex.
Its cool. I did not know about that the guy in the Free Clinic spoke a Free Mason code phrase. I just passed it on as just another random guy.
Even to this day the game amazes me. With tiny, immersion details like that, makes me wonder how much else I missed.
And i've been playing it for several years.
