I need help! Bypass/crack admin password for Windows 7
I'm in a bit of a dilemma, There is an administrator password on my pc, and m brother, the only one who knows the password put parental controls on it, so the only program I can use is Firefox. I hate it, so I was wondering if anyone knew a way to bypass this (obviously I can use most of the system programs like command prompt and such). There is a password on the Bios as well, so I can't do anything from there. I can burn CD's, but I need to change the Bios settings to boot from CD(password on bios though).
If anyone has any way to chenge the parental controls, tell me. I' not going to do anyhting for malicious purposes, so it's all good.

iirc, you can bypass it with the install DVD's. You may need to boot from them though... not sure.

There are many ways to reset the password, but most involve a CD or USB stick which need to be booted. You can reset the BIOS password by resetting your motherboard, but this could crash your system (for instance if you're using a raid 0 setup, though changing this back will probably solve the problem).
EDIT: also, are you sure you're using the administrator account? Try booting windows safe mode to see if you can log in on the real administrator account.

I recommend Active Password Changer. Always served me well, but is not free, so you may want to acquire it through alternative channels. I haven't looked into whether utilities like the Ultimate Boot CD contain account editing tools, but it might be worth a try since the UBCD is free.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I am using a standard user account. If I was using the admin account I would have done it easily.

Then just boot windows in safe mode (press F8 during booting until a screen pops up where you can choose to start windows in safe mode). In safe mode you can access the administrator account. I will try to do so now, because I have done things like this before (most notably when my dad had accidentally secured our account with a password and I didn't want to wait until he got home).
EDIT: tried but I am the administrator on my computer, and apparently in windows 7 there is no "über administrator" like there was in XP IIRC.

Consider installing some darjeeling in the powersupply, then hit your brother.
I don't really know. In older NT-based Windows, there was the recovery console in the CD. I always hated that QWERTY DOS shell. I remember resetting my admin password from there once. Since then Windows has invented a new meaning for "security".
If it is your PC, it's unlikely that the HD is the first boot device, but there'll be an easy way to clear the BIOS. Probably just removing a CR2027 battery for a few minutes (check the manual). Then I'd reinstall trustable software, and lock the computer down. If you're still generous, consider setting up two user accounts. Still, after that, I wouldn't trust him as a user on my computer. Computers are cheap now, Athlons and netbooks and such. Linux runs well on new and old machines, and won't have the pseudo-root semi-administrator account problems.

Try http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/ You'll need to create the boot disk first then boot with it. Then use your standard passcracker... use google. I ain't giving the play by play just because I'm not completely certain you aren't trying to do something illegal...

Pretty sure if someone clicks that, mr singsang will bypass his/her password.
Which would be bad. could you teach us to bypass Radish instead?

Heh, I thought a 2 year necro post with a link looked waaaaay too suspicious to click on earlier. A radish bypass, is that like a turn(ip)-pike? .Jaedar wrote:Pretty sure if someone clicks that, mr singsang will bypass his/her password.

Wow. I'm laughing at myself for this.
The problem was fixed a short while after I made the thread when the PC needed an upgrade, then my brother forgot to put a password on the bios again. After that happened, I could boot from CD and use the Trinity Rescue Kit to remove the password, then I could install the things I wanted, restart, restore password and no one would notice a thing.
