Sorry to hear that guys. I don't have any trouble playing my games on Steam apart from the usual glitches that pre patched games come with these days.

Apparently it "forgot" to install a game-critical .dll file. :?

Now it's working...
Can somebody tell me how I can get a custom avatar?

Wasn't me!

I haven't noticed any issues with it recently. Then, I haven't played anything via Steam today; Only a Non-Steam game linked into Steam.

I've never had the client crash on me. But it has done weird stuff like say I'm offline when I'm not, when I switch between store and community tabs for example. Clicking a few times snaps it back.

My main gripe is when they sell a game known to have an issue launching and the don't mention it on the sale/store page. There are one or two games that I can't get to work despite all the things I've tried in the forums. Although I will give it to the forum section for the games they have helped me out with a quick fix for many games!

Now Steam isn't letting me connect to SourceMod Servers. ](*,)
Something about an Invaild Steam UserID Ticket. :/

A Quick Google Search gives me a solution; Close Steam, Delete the ClientRegistry.blob file and run Steam Again. That doesn't fix it.
I give up for tonight, I'll have to miss the weekly, organised match of Overwatch. :so:

Dunno if this helps:
If you continue to receive this error message, the issue can most likely be resolved by restarting the Steam client.

If restarting Steam does not resolve the issue, please exit Steam and delete the following files from your Steam directory:

• Steam.dll
• SteamUI.dll
• Rename the ClientRegistry.blob
The files should be found at C:\Program Files\Steam\ (the location on your machine will vary if you specified a different installation folder, or if you have moved your Steam installation).

I've tried deleting the ClientRegistry.blob but maybe I'll try deleting the other two files and see if that solves it.
Team Fortress 2 can no longer find servers now so it is somewhat annoying.

D-D-D-Double Post!

Thanks for the help Bobby but that didn't solve it.
I had to move the SteamApps folder out of the Steam folder and completely uninstall Steam. Reinstall it and move the folder back.
I've just tried GoldenEye:Source and that seems to work okay now.
I'm getting more crashes and stuff again now though...
Bloody stupid program.

EDIT: I think I've figured out what causes the freezes. It seems that whenever something within Steam is downloading (In this case, my Video Drivers) it freezes up. I've noticed it in the past with games downloading it does the same...
Very odd. :-k

Heh, I don't play when Steam is downloading. The download slows to a crawl and the game I'm playing gets laggy as well. Play a game on Steam I mean.

My internet speeds are terrible so I used to just leave them downloading in the background when doing something else.
When I wanted to play a game (via Steam) I'd just launch the game the download would auto-pause and the game would launch.
Since my conversion to Win7 in the past 6 months, it now freezes if I forget to pause the download before launching the game.

Oh well, now I'm about 90% certain this is the cause of the freezing, at least I know how to avoid it.

That's what my old computer used to do and what I assume this computer tries too do.
But instead, Steam freezes/locks itself up and plays hell with my sanity.

That's what Steam does. No downloading and playing at the same time.

An utterly crappy system, if you ask me...

I agree. If someone has issues playing whilst downloading, they that someone in question can simply pause the download themselves.
The only issue I can see with Downloading and playing at the same time, is lag in a multiplayer game.

But Steam just hates downloading things full stop. So I only do it when I'm away from the computer or it starts giving me all sorts of grief.
