Yes , blame Wilbur Smith novels. :D

As Hassat found an alternative to happy birthday, and as I don't know thanks in Dutch, that's the closest I could get.

Congratulations on another circuit around the sun.

Random and useless information follows.

You know, if we lived on Neptune* none of us would be one year old yet? I bring this up because it has been a little over one Neptunian year since Neptune was discovered.

Clearly we must all argue that it is important to celebrate mercurial birthdays since they come every 88 days or so, and who couldn't use a birthday every 88 days?

-

* "If we lived on Neptune" is a good indicator that a sentence will have no bearing on reality whatsoever. It's one those things like, "Well, President Bush thinks" because, while the sentence as a whole might be true (president Bush may really think that) there's no way it will in any way resemble something that you could meaningfully apply to your actual life.

Thanks Chris. Impressive stats there, the wind speed, 1500 mph, means even if you lived long enough for your first birthday on Neptune, nobody could light the candles on your cake. :P

For next year: Dankje, dankjewel, bedankt, dank (although I think we are currently trending towards using the word 'thanks' in Dutch as well) ;)

And I didn't know HH was Dutch, so now there's at least three of us here I know of :D

Thanks, if I'm not abducted by aliens or something I'll be able to reply with your suggestions. Unless Hassat takes a course in Mandarin. :P

Wait. Wishing someone a happy birthday in a language they don't speak? I can do this. (Maybe.)

Thanks man. Personally speaking, vacation time takes precedent over lots of things. :P

Sorry about my late birthday wishes, but Happy Birthday Bob. Given that we live in the same city, I think it's fairly safe to say that anyone I heard running amok around this time was you jumping about in fits of joy at being a whole year older.

Hahahah! Thanks, I'm finding it a bit difficult to jump too high these days. I'd probably end up landing in of the bloody holes that they love to dig everywhere.
