Problem with the whole birthday thing is..you end up seeing people's ages, and (assuming it's correct), in my case generally thinking "....fuck". And then you feel old.

And bitter, don't forget bitter.

You're not permitted to feel old until you're 50.

Feel free to be bitter at your discretion.

yup, I agree with Jonas' sentiment Bobby :-D

Plus, some of us are old farts in more ways than one. It's weird, of the TNM cast, I think only King Kashue, Athanatos and Nosferatu were 25 or older. Most of the post which the game draws its characters from were somewhere between 14 and 18 I think....heh, Abomination was 12 when he started posting at PDX.

Also, happy birthday...shadowblade? did I get that right? And I'm not sure who jaybird is, sadly.

At what point in time? In 2002 when we started working? In 2004 when the mod pretends to take place? Or in 2009 when it was finished? ;)

I vaguely remember thinking 25 was 'old', now I am older and think 40 is sort of old.

Also, I agree that you're all assholes, except Bobby.

I wonder where the notion of birthdays comes from, when was it introduced. Is it a cultural thing?

I'm actually talking about the leadup to Trestkon feeling inspired to do it.

There was a lot of forum fan fiction in 01-02, chiefly by alpha operator, trojansoldier and a few others; it resulted in the fan fiction subforum, and some serials that almost had the length of novellas. Eventually it inspired Trestkon to try to build a map.

The people active at that point are the people I meant to reference.

I'm not entirely sure. I did read about birthday cakes as I wanted to know why candles are placed on them. It originated as a proffering to Artemis the Greek goddess of the moon, the lighted candles were placed on the cake to represent moonlight.
