Emulating a xBox 360 Controller

Post by nerdenstein »

Okay, this might seem like a silly question but I want to Emulate an Xbox Controller. I have a couple of Playstation Gamepads that I bought a USB adapter for and they work fine with a couple of games but most Steam games require an Xbox controller annoyingly. Now, I'm not paying £30 odd for a controller when I've got two decent controllers anyway.
Does anyone know of a program that could achieve this? I've had a look around but all the programs I've come across aren't very good.

To add a bit of context, Portal 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 Splitscreen is a hell of a lot of fun but it takes forever to get working and sometimes it doesn't. And part of the issue is that the game registers my controller as an Xbox controller so all the controls are messed up.
The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.

So you haven't used any XBOX360 controller emulators, or just don't like those?

I've tried x360ce. It was buggy from when I was using it.
I may try Motion in Joy.

I just wanted to know if anyone had any experience in using any of the programs.

One program you can try is DS4Windows, which allows you to map your PlayStation controller inputs to emulate an Xbox controller. It's free to download and has been widely used by gamers for this purpose. However, if you're still facing issues with compatibility, especially with Steam games, and you're looking for a more comprehensive solution, you might want to consider exploring alternatives like USBoNET. While click to read more isn't specifically designed for controller emulation, it offers global USB access, allowing you to access USB devices remotely over the internet.
