I went to see my mum for her birthday recently. Man was I surprised to walk into the kitchen to see...a cleaner bot!
I watched it for a good 10 mins, think it uses the same tech on some cars that senses when in close proximity to something. It's Scripting wasn't too clever & it couldn't remember which surfaces it had already cleaned. You are meant to just leave it and over time it gets things done eventually.
It keeps going until it runs out of battery (or manually turned off of course) at which point it finds its way back to its pen (pre-determined location, an emmiter of some sort). It navigates around objects with ease though.

I wanted to jump on it like I do in DX

There's all kinds of stuff out there that you could nod to DX. Pity PDX got blown up or I could go over there where I made a longish post with some links where nano-augmentation was being used on different consumer products. Also, I was able to find this: The small machine gun (or other weapons) robot is a reality. The first has definite similarities to what we know in the game.
