The Most Saddest Game you played.

Post by Chris »

Well the saddest one I played was To The Moon. I got soooo emotional half way through the game.
The game's story was AMAZING! Its like reading a best-seller book. The game's sad story reflects on what I read on other sites, things about love, gain, fun... sadness, envy, lies, loss,... their consequences (IN BACKWARDS STYLE!) and other things that have ties with life. OK but not EVERYTHING!

The story takes place with 2 scientists, ill not mention names, part of their job, are sent to a mansion out of town. Blah blah blah, i dont wanna spoil for you. So what are the other saddest moments you experienced during gaming?

Man... let me tell you about Dear Esther:

Fuck, you will cry.

See I got it during the Steam Summer Sale... which is also conveniently right around the time my girlfriend broke up with me. That game is about tragedy and loss so it tugged at the ol' heart strings a lot more than it normally would. I was chopping up onions something fierce that day I tell you what.

Planescape: Torment. End of the game reaches some pretty high emotional notes. Only game that ever made me cry.

Ditto on To The Moon. It had me crying several times throughout it. Ghost Trick was another tear jerker, but part of that may have been like Zero Presence's example where I had recently experienced a related emotional issue.

Don't think any game has made me cry, but Spec Ops: The Line has made me feel pretty bad about myself, it's such a great game. Probably my favourite this year so far.

To the Moon is probably the most/only emotional game I've played - probably because it actually felt kind of 'genuine', it being an indie game.

Deus Ex: Invisible War :) I felt like crying every time I felt restricted. In other words all the time. Nah it is not that bad.

In all seriousness, probably one of the old Final Fantasies tbh.

Max Payne's desperate struggle for revenge and answers was moving.

Red Dead Redemption had a moving scene near the end.

Call Of Cthulhu: DCOTE was all kinds of crazy.

Metal Gear Solid 1 & 3 I suppose is worth mentioning.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution?

Dead Island trailer and Jin Scenes.

Oh yes. Not just the fact that he died, it was a horrible death to add to that. Like, almost as horrible as this guy in Robocop.

I honestly found Fallout: New Vegas got really sad at times. Especially with Dead Money.

Good thing Wild Wasteland was there to lighten up things!

MW2's "No Russian" was sad enough. MW3's Version of "No Russian" was sad too.
Seeing Soap die left me one tear.

Oh, shit, how could I forget Iji, an indie game directly influenced by System Shock 2 and Deus Ex?!? Awesomely fun, but really sad.

Finished The Line.

Yeah, kind of sad, I'll have to agree.
