Anyway, version 1.08 of The Dark Mod has been released:

A new mission called William Steele: In The North also released alongside this update, and is probably one of the bigger missions released and demonstrates some of TDMs newer features.

I was reading over on RPS that you still need the original Doom 3 to run it as Doom 3 BFG changes the exe and such. They're also pulling Doom 3 off of digital distribution sites....the tossers.

iDTech 4's been released for about a year - I'm kind of disappointed they haven't released this as standalone considering they're not really relying on Doom 3 content.

As it is, I've only got the BFG edition so I guess I'm suck.

A standalone version of The Dark Mod is in the works, so hopefully you're not stuck for too much longer .
