That is one hardcore console game. Have you completed it?
No, I didn't complete it during it's hayday, and every attempt I have made since has fallen short because of lack of time. I still have the game disc though. Someday..

Many of the musicians involved with indie titles or mods are very good

As an huge VGM fan I'm quite shocked that some of the best musicians haven't been mentioned.

Best of them all, Chris Hülsbeck, not mentioned? What are you guys doing?

Probably the most recognized VG musician EVER, Tim Wright not here? Whaaa???

What about Rob Hubbard? He did more complex VGM beats for C64 than the new composers today on new PC and console games.

Don't care about japanese composers that much, but I guess Junko Tamiya should be mentioned from 8 and 16-bit eras.

...well maybe Koichi Yamanishi too...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMgrhcho5tA&fmt=18

...and Aki Hata, he took Genesis/MegaDrive to its limits...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTCWUJkbntg

Grant Kirkhope? He worked on tons of European games some US too late 90's.

"Crusader: No Remorse" and "Crusader: No Regret" both have my most favorite soundtracks. Thank "Andrew Sega". He has been around forever and done most amazing music. Here is the full soundtrack for "Crusader: No Remorse".

Ian Howe? He does better club music for video games than the "real musicians" for real clubs.

You like medieval themes? Then check out Eric Heberling.

You like realistic video game music? Some games actually have real music and lyrics. And some of them should be almost real life superhits.

OOOHHH, can't stop. But I have to go. Already late because of this damn long listing.

I don't play a lot of games but back in the early days, I liked Tim Follin: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Follin

I liked his music from Ghouls'n'Ghosts (one of my favorite games back then): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iR3Cc5erCuE
L.E.D Storm: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OJIcDWaE3U
Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RQTS7o2vno

And from the old days, loved the UN Squadron game music: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UN_Squadron

My favorite soundtracks are from Earthworm Jim 1, 2 and 3D (PC versions) and Diablo 2 and LOD expansion.

Why not post em!
Earthworm Jim is one platformer/Puzzle game with more value than Limbo, imo, and it's from 1994.

What a soundtrack:
