I disabled it in IE but I had to Google how to view the Chrome plugins. Copy paste chrome://plugins in the search/address bar if anyone doesn't know. A couple of other plugins needed important security updates as well so thanks for the reminder man.

I never have Java installed (unless I'm writing/testing Java applications). If one is really concerned about browser security one should surf the web with the NoScript addon for FireFox.
