The interface for Sony Vegas 13 Platinum

Alright, so this is a product I want to buy since I do a lot of video editing. But compared to version 11, the interface is one the gayest things I've seen in my life. How do I go about editing the interface so it doesn't have those big, stupid buttons on the top of the screen and the bottom? They squash everything else in and it also makes the preview window small. And that also makes the timelines window small too. These buttons are obviously some touch screen crap, but I don't have that on my laptop.

I have searched google and found literally no results, except for threads and websites where people complain about these buttons. But no actual places that tell me how to change the interface, if it can be done at all.

Does anyone use this program? Or does anyone know how I can find out if I can change the interface? Because I won't be buying the program unless I find out.

Also the support page for the Sony website is unbelievably crap, and no use whatsoever. It boggles the mind that the support page for such a big company is so crap, but there you have it. I can't ask any questions unless I enter the serial for the product I own.

I have not used 13 yet so don't know how it works compared to 12 and what features it has compared to 12, as I have only seen a couple of screenshots of it and from those, from what I can see the layout isn't that much different to the older versions, but I haven't used it yet. However, if you haven't used it, I'd recommend Sony Vegas Pro 12 as I use it a lot and have not had many problems with it and find it easy to use and I may try Platinum 13 to see how the interface is, but as yet, I like Pro 12 enough not to want to change it

It's $200! Why is version 13 so much cheaper, and why can't they make a version 12 that similar to 13 in price?
