This was just about the worst online event ever. That Octoshape bullshit blizzard used for the video streaming is pure digital AIDS.

I finally got the stream working just in time for fire dancers shakin it to the Diablo Tristram tune. :sigh:

I watched the gameplay video on the diablo 3 website (took me over two hours before it decided to work) and that was worth it though. Holy shit that boss monster at the end ATE THE BARBARIAN.

Yeah, judging from those 19 minutes they stay true to the original while everything looks very polished and well thought out. Pretty much what I've expected. I will look out for it.

Nice, just in time for my Diablo-fatigue to wear off. I was really tired of that RPG style by the time I was through Diablo 2, but I've started to regain interest in the pure hack'n'slash action-RPG now. The gameplay trailer looks nice, lots of fancy effects. I'm looking forward to see how well the randomly generated levels will work in 3D with as high graphical fidelity as they're showing off there.

Anybody up for co-op around christmas 2009? :)

Wow, that looked awesome, hopefully those "features" (like destructible walls) aren't just little gimmicks you can only use once in a blue moon.

I liked 2, but then I cheated and the game sucked... To tell you the truth I really kinda don't like most RPGs because you spend hours of your life leveling up to no end and for no purpose other then to play the game... WTF. Although that isn't too much diffrent then playing MGS4 over and over again to get random equipment so you can play the game. God I need to stop playing that game.

Alas, we will probably need to rope somebody else into it as well, to play a fighter and round out the party. Perhaps Nick can be persuaded to join up.

I think I played a warrior in Diablo 2, and I distinctly remember playing a rogue in Diablo 1. I really like ranged attacks, and getting to the level where you can fire arrows with the speed of a semiautomatic rifle is just awesome, but I'm playing through Titan Quest as a ranger (Hunter/Nature multiclass) right now, so I think I'll have had enough bow and arrow by the time I'm through it.

Maybe I'll try the necromancer this time, if he's still in the game. There's something awesome about sending a horde of summoned skeletons to fight on your behalf.

Uh... huh. So how is that different from any other game? I mean playing eg. UT3, you spend hours of your life honing your twitch skills to perfection and for no purpose other than to play the game. At least in RPG's, there's usually a good story you can experience :P

I'm in, and I'm generally a barbarian, so no worries about fighting ;)

But can you keep up with a couple of dead-beats like Phas and I, who play when normal people are at work? :)
