Don't care about that story (Tea Parties are racially motivated astroturfing), but that dude was way, way over melodramatic and backpatting, like he felt so clever and full of himself for misreading a Fox News print ad, and overreacting to what was implied that Fox News had the "real" story, not that they had the "only" story.

This doesn't accomplish anything but make Rick Sanchez feel better.

I agree with Jetsetlemming.

I hate FOX News as much as any smart person does but Sanchez doing this shit doesn't make him, or CNN, look any better. It makes him look like a douche, just like FOX News and that's about it.

I was taught in the school not to retaliate to bullies or in this case, things which offend me. I can't say I listened to my teachers/parents well in that regard, but clearly neither did a lot of people (look at some wars, for example).

The "tea party" thing was a manufactured story; that was blatantly obvious. Covering it means covering a political stunt. Of course Fox covered it more, in that they essentially hosted it. CNN covered it, but that's both a good thing (they covered the news too!), and a bad thing (covering all the news that isn't news across the nation). BBC World covered it too, but it was a mention instead of a focus.

It's always a stupid idea to acknowledge a losing competitor. It's also a stupid idea to let lies perpetuate.

Who really gives a shit? I don't watch, read or listen to shit like CNN, MSNBC or FNC at all (especially not the last one). Some people find them interesting, I find them a waste of fucking time.

In New Zealand we have the news every night at 6pm, this goes for an hour. Then we have a 30 minute run-down on the news (main headlines) at 10pm. Most of this is local news with some international news of interest.

If I want to learn about what's new in entertainment, or computing, or politics in other countries I can use Google and look it up. It's not hard, it's also far easier than listening to some "news reporter" blabber on for 30 minutes about shit I don't care about.

I come, I read/watch, I leave. That's all. All I care about is the news, nothing more and nothing less. Both FOX News and CNN would do well to realise that is what most people want from them, the NEWS, not some pathetic corporate slander.
