DX modmanager?

Post by Lollercoaster »

I wanna know if when all the deus ex mods are done, will there be a modmanager made for them like the one for SS2? http://www.systemshock.org/index.php?topic=527.0

It would make things simpler and save a lot of hassle...

I think all DX mods made these days come with their own installers that make copies of DeusEx.exe and ensure you can have them all installed at the same time without them interfering with each other. The only exception I know is Shifter and similar mods that alter DeusEx.u.

I had an idea for an external Mod Loader that allowed you too run Big mods; Zodiac, TNM, alongside Graphical/Gameplay Modifications; Shifter, New Vision, Hardcore DX, HDTP.

But i wouldn't know where to start :P

As for smaller mods; The smaller fan missions found here; http://www.planetdeusex.com/dx1/files/singleplayer/ and others can run on the UC Modloader.

Some of these mods don't run using the Mod Loader so I took the liberty of modifing a file or too and made them work correctly with the Mod Loader. http://www.moddb.com/mods/deus-ex-fan-missions

I've only done 5 Fan Missions so far. Then my Hard Drive failed on me. ](*,)

So I'll try uploading somemore when I can. The next one I was gonna do was the Theivery Mutator :P
Wasn't really a Fan Mission but it was a nice add-on to the Stealth aspects of DX.
The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.

I don't see a great need for it as it's not difficult to install mods for Deus Ex (or any Unreal game for that matter), whereas installing mods for SS2 without a manager is a little more fiddly.
