I've got modified UNATCO maps.
I think DDL's method involves it replacing the models automatically upon entering the map?

If it's that one newspaper that's bugged, in unmodified maps, it will still break when you open the door but if you ghost in, it'll have changed to your new model/texture.

I think that's the jist of what is going on but someone correct me if I'm wrong.
The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.

I can just move that newspaper back to "out of door destruction radius" in the missionscript (I think I could get away with that, it's not a "game mechanics" change :P), or simply make that newspaper invincible. There's one in paul's secret cupboard that does the same thing. Newspapers fucking hate movers, clearly.

As for books, we already have HDTP books, but if you want to make new skins for them I am sure as fuck not going to object . I could send you the new texture as a base, if you like?

(and I could probably re-UV map the open book to avoid mirroring, if you're feeling really texture-happy).

Yeah if you send me the base texture will get to texturing the books.

Awesome work on the newspaper! Thats just amazingly high res.

I just finished Human Revolution, and vow to not touch the other Deus EX games until this mod is finished. Patience is a virtue.

Pretty nice when you see it moving.
Still takes a time to get used to.
Still like it.

I don't really understand why they put two keyboards on the model it makes no sense. The size of it makes no sense either, it must be equiv to having like a 70" widescreen monitor in front of ya.

Even if two people were meant to use it at the same time - there wouldn't be space to because of the way they are angled.... and if you was meant to use both keyboards at the same time.. fuck, you would need a wrist aug to stop the RSI killing them.

Another irritation is the fucking mirroring on the screen, would be alright if it was halfway through the screen but its like 3/4 of the way through.

I would like to see the modellers and texture artists of the game and give em a slap the lazy shits. Even for allowing the fact it had the orig renderer, they still could have made a better effort.

Dude we have an HDTP model of that already... :-/

Mind you, it still suffers from similar mirroring issues, but hey. Also, I think the keyboard is sorta emulating one of those horrible ergonomic keyboards, but ...er...wrongly.

Or it's basically two computers in one, requiring different keyboards. Some people I know do this, having for instance both a Linux PC and a Windows PC connected to the same monitor, using two different keyboards.

Those newspapers look awesome

now if only we had an interface upgrade mod that would actually give newspapers proper headings and such

I am not sure if that goes to far into editing the actual game experience but +1

May have been an attempt at an ultra widescreen like this one? http://www.maximumpc.com/files/u58308/NEC_CRV43.jpg but it seems to have three sections, left, center and right, maybe supposed to be a one monitor version of a multiple display setup?. I agree the keyboard is emulating ergonomic keyboards.
