*Sighs* I know that very phrase, I've seen it used dozens of times, but I'm still gonna ask regardless :P To stubborn for that answer ;)

I like the phrase "when its done" because it means the product will only be released when it is actually done, and not released according to the Christian Calender. So it will be released and be 100% quality (well hopefully) because there are no rediculous time contraints that seem to mare some other games.
It also means you can take forever to make your game and then no one cares and all expectations are lowered(DNF IM LOOKING AT YOU) , unlike highly anticipated titles. So its a balance of not building any hype that you have to live up to and cannot possibly do so, but still releasing it and people actually buy it (if you dont have a release date for the game)

Actually If I remember rightly, "when its done" was coined by either 3D Realms or ID Software.. I don't remember but I'm positive it wasn't blizzard. I think it was 3D Realms about the release of DNF 15 years ago :D

But Blizzard's the one who's used it, and actually released stuff while holding to the principle. :P

I thought they just operate on the Valve Time principle.
