Here's the thing that seems odd about it to me, it's not his head or his belly, it's his pants. (His trousers if you don't like Catholic saints.)
JC is a guy who wears combat boots into actual combat, all of the people I've seen doing that, mostly soldiers and riot cops, have pants which I think are different from the new JC model. They don't have baggy pants that stick out at the top of the boot, instead they have smaller less likely to get caught on things pants that either are or appear to be (depending on the length of the pants in question) tucked into their boots. In terms of an untextured model the result would be we'd look at it and say, "I can't tell where the boot ends and the pants begin," or there would be a fairly small blulge just above the top of the boot.
I'm certainly not seeing the first and I don't think I'm seeing the second. What I think I'm seeing and instead JC is wearing odd pants.
