Curious little tool

Post by Jetsetlemming »

I found this while looking for Morrowind mods.
http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=5535
Basically, it "wraps" the directx .dll's to achieve new graphical features in Morrowind, like a semi-HDR effect, and change how lighting, fog, and shaders effects work ingame.
Is something like this to effect Deus Ex remotely feasable?

Huh, I thought this thread would be about Cyberpunk.

To bring in a little on-topicness:

Technically I'd say it's possible, no doubt.
Whether it's possible within a 'reasonable' timeframe, I don't think so. By the time it's done, DX:R will hopefully be out and it would be redundant.

Besides, they already tried fake HDR Lighting and it worked so there is no point in us doing it.

I don't care about HDR as much as I do antisotropic filtering (I HATE how bilinear and trilinear filtering looks :(), and higher detail dynamic lighting shadows. :P True, I can force antisotropic filtering (and antialiasing) via the Catalyst drivers, but not everbody has that good fortune.
I wonder how long this particular project took whomever made it...

You can force AF and AA with nVidia cards too in the video options.
