GMDX v8.0 Release Date Revealed

v8.0 Release Date announced as December 7th 2015

Alongside the date announcement is three videos:

Awesome. Bring Deus Ex to 2015 standards, like the prequel games never can.

The animal AI is pretty astounding to see in Deus Ex, heck, most games nowadays just treat them as humans with funky animations.

This is a good year to be a Deus Ex fan.

I would say that given the way it sounds, it's probably the VO actor that did the news intro at the beginning of Nihilum.

Us DX modders, and people willing to contribute even in minor ways are a dying breed. I had to go elsewhere.

And yes, he is quite talented. No matter how good the features are, how well I write the script or edit the video, my voice would have ruined it.

It's unfortunate quality game design quite obviously cannot sell itself. We need marketing campaigns! How delightful.
Rando spidey thought: I think I'll need some more EDM in the next video so that the insta-gratification Millennials will pay attention.

Looks pretty good. After the disappointment of Revision, these videos are a welcome sight.

Yep or anything, to get beyond the noise and din of the 2 million other people pushing stuff. Not to mention the sites that really don't want any part of your marketing (forums and such). Admittedly that's probably why a lot of my stuff (writing, my own projects, etc) hasn't gotten beyond just the little enclaves I've posted them in.

Even for something like this new HDTP release, I made the screens with the intent of posting around, but beyond Steam I'm kind of lost on active places to post this kind of stuff. Of course, as I noted, I couldn't post in the Steam community *at all*. There's always ModDB, but really don't know that platform well enough (not to mention can't link the new download to the HDTP project page), so couldn't post the file there (or any kind of news of the release). I did upload those images I attached in the thread here to my personal page, so people can get them if they browse there. But they're much better off on the HDTP project page, along with a bunch that needed to be posted in conjunction with Release 2.

But beyond actually getting something done, the bigger pain is indeed being the publicity whore that's required in order that even one person even knows about your stuff. If anything, watching what happened around TNM was educational in that regard - the ones involved with that probably spent more clock time in that six month period on that than they did on actually creating TNM in the first place. Scary.

I'm looking for a final wave of testers by the way. Any takers in this here graveyard?

Mod marketing campaigns to a professional standard seem to be a DX-exclusive thing as well. Other mod communities I visit are a lot more quiet. It's Jonas' fault for setting that standard. Yeah, I'll blame him. :)

Count me in. If I was unable to help coding and popping creative things out of my mind back then, maybe I can help polish and finalise the thing to a top-notch level.

He had it on the list but already posted there. I wasn't really aware of it though myself. I'll have to register and go over there and post about HDTP and my own project.
