The Latest - State of the project

Post by DaveW »

Thought I'd update people in a shameless +15 minutes of fame!

Right, where things stand is no work has been done since the beta. This project has been on my mind since I started it and after the beta I could finally run away from it. But, this September, I'm coming back to it and working my arse off to finish off the textures. Hopefully we can reach about 80% of the original artwork. I say we because a fine fellow called Helder Pinto, or [HP], who also happens to be a level artist at Crytek has offered to help out with some of the textures!

Naturally I have given him the textures I avoided like the plauge. And will take the easy ones for myself because I'm a wanker.

But at any rate, we may have a final release by the end of the year. But once work starts again properly, I will of course post updates to let people know what's going on. Then we'll release the bugger, and you will never hear of New Vision again! :(

Correction: You will hear about it every time a Deus Ex discussion pops up on the internet, which is about ever 2.5 seconds.

Here Here, let it be shouted from the roof tops. Also a question without notice.
Does New Vision act like Gatorade for the OpenGL?Since installing it on both Deus Ex and TNM both seem to be running more smoothly and of course looking great(naturally).

No way around the name, and if he helps DaveW to get NV done, he'll have a hell of a lot more credit with me than whoever else working at CryTek, with their shooter games.

Yes that such a great name.

Wait, Crytek are helping an English person? Does this mean Crytek are moving their offices to England? (They said they were thinking of moving from Germany because of the many Video Game laws there)
Paul, I know you said no phone messages, but South Street's going up in smoke. We'll have to meet at the subway station.

More accurately, there are laws for not developing games in Germany. Or rather not being allowed to, if they're violent.

Yes, thank you for backing me up.

I would bother finding the news article and giving it you, but seen as its tomorrow, I'll wait until it's half past daytime.

I just wonder what kinds of textures he has been avoiding all this time to shove off on some unsuspecting volunteer?
Hmm, I really wish I had a signature...
