It appears everybody lost their TNM related status except the team, so maybe it was supposed to happen?

There were so few veterans because almost all of them had TNM, OTP, HDTP, or TNM Tester status, so I decided to do away with the TNM Tester rank. If you guys really liked that rank, it's pretty easy for me to re-implement it. Let me know.

I was planning to add a mod to the board that would enable multiple ranks actually, since Dave needs both an OTP rank and a New Vision rank, and certain OTP members never worked on TNM. I just don't know when I'll get around to it :)

Well I know that at least two of us still had it after the change because I noticed mine and someone else commented on still having the rank in this very thread.

[Added:] And Jonas speaks.

I have no problem being a veteran, but when you get the multiple ranks thing done I'd like to have TNM Tester added back.

When you implement multiple ranks, I want the rank of "Ruler of Jaedara" :P
What do you mean you don't take requests?

So far, the only unique ranks are Evil Funding Overlord of DXE (DDL) and Platypus (Smike). You have to earn ranks like that ;)

And how do we earn these ranks?
Paul, I know you said no phone messages, but South Street's going up in smoke. We'll have to meet at the subway station.

What if I create a poison that would wipe all spiders of the face of the earth? Would that earn me a unique rank? :P

That depends, could you do it without any negative side effects?

Probably not, I mean the eco system would be probably be a bit fucked for 10-20 years or so, but I'm confident it would sort it self out, by there being more insect eating birds around :). Now to developing a poison that only works on spiders without harming anything else and also being realistic to spread all over the globe; To the batmobile!

Invent a poison that turns spiders into tiny adorable bug-eating kittens, and then we'll talk.

Don't forget the bug eating part. Anything that increases the mosquito population is bad.

That was the point, yeah.

My (parents' :() cats are pretty enthusiastic bug hunters, but they're not very efficient, and they tend to practice catch-and-release-and-catch-etc. for maximum entertainment instead of just eating the damn things and going to look for more.

I have been told that cats are born killers but they need to be taught to eat what they kill. My own experiences have not led me to doubt this. I wonder if the lack of incentive (they get no meal at the end) causes them to put killing off for longer than they would if they planned to eat what they are toying with.

I read a play study once which claimed that wild cats don't play. Only domesticated cats play, presumably because they get free meals, so they don't have to hunt for food, and their domestication keeps them in a sort of kitten-like relationship to their humans. Wild cats catch, kill, and eat. Domesticated cats catch, release, catch, release, catch, release, eventually kill on accident, and then lose interest.
