A graphical enhancement mod for Deus Ex. Our computers get better and
better, but Deus Ex graphics always stay the same... Not according to
the good folks at the HDTP! They are always working to bring DX into
the future with good looks and a bright smile!
Deus Ex is a hybrid First Person Shooter (FPS) Role-Playing Game (RPG) published by Eidos and developed by the late Ion Storm, lead by Warren Spector and Harvey Smith. Chances are, if you are a hardcore PC gamer, you probably have heard of all four names, as they are legends in the industry. Much of that legacy is due to the success of Deus Ex.
Indeed, Deus Ex maintains a large cult following despite the
luke-warm reception of its sequel. Many people are waiting for Deus
Ex 3, and in the meantime, some modify the original.
Off Topic Productions is one group of these people, making mods
using Deus Ex's altered Unreal Engine. Certainly there are more
advanced engines to use, but the game's integrated RPG elements such
as skills, stealth, diplomacy, and augmentations provide a firm base
for many projects.
IMPORTANT: most of the projects from OTP require that you have Deus Ex installed on your computer for you to be able to play. This should not be a problem, as it can be purchased from places such as the online download shop Direct2Drive.com for about $10USD. Be warned, however, that if you download it through Steam, you might run into some problems.
If you've never played Deus Ex before, now is your chance to experience an epic game with a deep storyline, intelligent dialogue, and blood-pumping action! Almost everyone who has played it has become a fan. Join their ranks!
