Re: HDTP beta
If I'm honest, it's just been a bad few months for free time: I'm trying to get as much research published as possible so I can justify my existence, and also trying to buy a house, a process which consumes more time than even I expected (and then the seller pulls out at the last minute fuuuuuuu). I...

Re: Caption the screenshot
Hah! You think DX uses bones ? Oh god, we wish . It's wholly frame-based animation, and all weapons are rendered relative to the "weapons triangle" (a single invisible poly placed in the palm of the hand). There is only one weapons triangle per animated mesh, so all weapons have to work with that. A...

Re: Caption the screenshot
the HDTP mini crossbow isn't attached to JCs hand the same as it is on first person view Closest we could get it for all frames of animation for all pawn meshes. I think I prioritised enemies (NSF etc) because you'll actually see it on them more often. :P The main problem is the hand is expecting a...

Re: Science question.
Yeah, but the whole POINT of relativity is that the "universe is static, you're moving" analogy is NOT the case, as far as I understand it. There is no static frame of reference: you moving toward something at a given speed is wholly and totally indistinguishable from you being stationary and everyt...

Re: Science question.
Actually, you have some assumptions wrong. As you approach your destination, you will see every photon their clock emits - meaning, you will see their clocks turn a year in half a year's time, while also shifting to blue due to your fast approach. Right, so when they look at ME, they should see MY ...

hrm.. (can't skype: at work..obviously not currently working terribly hard , coz asking physics questions, but hey) So with time dilation (which I think I'm happy with), at light speed, if you turned your car lights on....you wouldn't turn your car lights on because at lightspeed time wouldn't actua...

Re: Science question.
I really wish I understood relativity better. Every time I read attempts to explain how FTL breaks causality, it always comes down to frames of reference. In my head, there's basically no problem whatsoever with FTL travel if you assume the entire universe is a single frame of reference: light preve...

Re: Nameless Mod Weapon Pack in Deus Ex?
The JC you see in the endgames is not JC. It's a JCDouble, a generic scriptedpawn that performs JC's work in cutscenes. Hence, it won't inherit any funtime TNM code.

Re: What are you playing?
Eating an overwatch shot while dashing is always preferable to getting fired upon while you're in heavy cover! I don't even own xcom (though I'm finding this discussion interesting), and even I can spot that this seems a bit silly. It's set up so that getting shot by an overwatching dude while spri...

Apparently I can ban people. I just don't really like doing so.
Also, the postmodern take on home furnishing was kinda endearing. But, as noted, incredibly prolific.

Re: HDTP beta
I got two PMs from you, but one of them comes up as "unsent"...it's weird. Anyway, when I get around to finalising HDTP (which to be honest is more of a motivation issue than a time issue...though time is also a factor), an installer would be super. Trestkon made the last one, but I know jack shit a...

Re: Question about inflation/deflation and debts
Also worth noting that the interest on a loan factors inflation into account. Even "interest-free" loans have interest, it's just pegged directly to inflation.

Re: Question about inflation/deflation and debts
I'm a bit confused as to why you think expenses are fixed?
Mortgages are frequently variable rate. Gas/Water/Electricity are all subject to inflationary increases. Food certainly is.
Your entire opening question asks why these things are fixed, and the answer is: they're not.

Possibly your map now wants moretriggers.u to be loaded every time. Try opening the editor, loading that package, and then opening your map.
