Re: How can I run New Vision alongside Revision and HDTP?

Fantastic shit going on here. It's mad ain't it - DX lies dormant for ages (MP for example, at one point ~10 players online, now regularly reaches 100), fuck all comes out for years, now there's mods left right and centre! I personally won't play gameplay altering mods as I believe it detracts from ...

Re: New Vision Beta - Bug Reports

Not quite sure what any of that means lol but agreed about battery park, probably the worst one in the game. The generic high rises in HK kinda suck whilst not strictly being part of the skybox. I've experimented with MASSIVE skybox textures in DX (like 2048x2048 etc) and they okay, but due to the s...

Re: New Vision Beta - Bug Reports

Make sure to use latest version (v27 i believe) as the hdr has been toned down slightly, well the speed at which it darkens/brightens is slower. Enable "simulatemultipasssomethingorother" in preferences... i forget exact name. It makes sky textures like clouds look uber cool. In latest versions hdr ...

Re: New Vision Beta - Bug Reports

Something I can suggest which may help: http://www.klaimsoft.com/winuha/ Creating an archive (or even a self-extracting one) using that software really and truly does compress much better than zip or rar. Give it a shot at least. I agree about the lighting, although I now play DX with the D3D10 rend...

Re: Map Requests

Yes. We should all combine Brian's and come up with a list of actual bugs in the maps, there are some I'm told.

Fix these, and mildly alter the look of the map (I'm thinking concentrating on backdrops, distant stuff, inaccessible areas etc, it's a nice idea).

Re: Map Requests

The way I was imagining it, the upper floors wouldn't be accessible but just about visible (maybe have some non-flickering lights near the top of the shaft). All the doors would be shut like the top one currently is. But I was thinking of making that one top door that you can get to with the ladder...

Re: New Vision Beta - Bug Reports

Hey Shadow glad to see ya here! DaveW, I've been explaining to mappers that once NV becomes widely-used, people are going to notice texture misalignments much more obviously than before, as you rightly said they were so lo res you wouldn't notice before. I'm not really interested in editing any maps...

Re: New Stuff

Lol @ you saying this would be released "next week".... about 3-4 weeks ago?? SERIOUSLY...499MB?? Oof. Is that ALL textures or just the anims? Loving the sound of this and eagerly awaiting now. Hoping you're still going to do a .dds version for MP?? Btw, I haven't found a way of making masked textur...

Re: New Vision In Multiplayer.

Perhaps you could do normal maps for your textures?? Or would that be too much work?

I'm not aware of ENBSeries, have never tried it. I've heard of it though, adds bloom and stuff doesn't it?

Re: New Vision In Multiplayer.

Hmm. Experimenting with normal maps now.

It's easier to make normalmaps from ur texs, since the lines and such are clean, and pronounced.

OK thanks.
I've got it working in mp with your old release, BUT... there appears to be no detail textures. Any ideas??

Re: New Vision In Multiplayer.

It's not the names that are a problem for me, it's actually creating the maps, I've followed a few tutorials but don't really know how to get a good result. The only one that made any sense to me and sorta explained why it wasn't working was this one: http://www.katsbits.com/tutorials/textures/how-n...

Re: how to see New Vision textures in the editor?

Just tried it - UnrealEd 2 does work with new vision textures.

I'm using UED 2 from the Deus Ex editing pack available here: http://dxalpha.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... iting+pack

Hope it helps anyone wondering lol.
