Re: CLANDESTINE

Sorry for being a terrible person and forgetting this entirely. Have now bought, currently watching the install progress in anticipation.

Re: Fantastic Mod

The ballet conversation was fantastic. It endlessly amazes me how skilled character writers, on screen or on the page, can give people such depth with such little touches. How do they think of the random extra stuff which is totally superfluous but often the most memorable? All the backstory behind ...

Re: System Shock 1 played by people who worked on it

For the uninitiated amongst us, what piece of theory? Is there some introductory reading available online?

Re: CLANDESTINE

Will definitely grab early access. Is that kinda like Kiclstarter, where I get the whole thing eventually?

Also, any chance of the soundtrack as a DLC or something? Leo Badinella rocks.

Re: CLANDESTINE

Been rewatching the trailer (and gameplay trailer too). Two things: 1. Sign me up for a pre-order, looks like a great concept and with Jonas behind it the level design should be cracking. 2. What's the music at the end of the teaser trailer*? Is it original or can I find more of that sweet sweet mus...

Re: Adjusting the brightness doesn't "stick"?

Also, the thing about you getting no music and the original game when you launch, that's cause you are not launching from the TNM shortcut, you can't just tick the TNM boxes in Kentie's launcher as the mod requires a lot of other configurations things besides the data directories. If you launch fro...

Re: Adjusting the brightness doesn't "stick"?

Aaaah, OK.

I'm running Flux (https://justgetflux.com/), and even when it is on 'Disable for an hour' it over-rides the brightness setting.

Apologies for that, with OpenGL it works fine now.

Re: Adjusting the brightness doesn't "stick"?

Oh man, I'm way out of my depth. I've looked for stuff like that, and either found nothing or stuff that is hugely technical and so on.

Re: Adjusting the brightness doesn't "stick"?

I'm playing full screen. Not sure how to check the things you are talking about but more than willing to try. Wonder if this is a Windows8 issue because it worked fine on my old laptop. As for renderer, have tried OpenGL, Direct3D, and even Software Renderer. Am happy to uninstall everything and sta...

Re: Adjusting the brightness doesn't "stick"?

OK, using the Kentie launcher has fixed the screen resolution, and changed the brightness problem. Now the brightness won't change at all, instead of changing and reverting. Also, the music is gone in the menu. And even if I set the data directories to TNM it loads the TNM menu and then the DX game....

Re: Adjusting the brightness doesn't "stick"?

I've got a similar problem to this, and I can't change resolution. There is simply no number in the 'Screen Resolution' box and clicking on the button to change it does nothing. As for brightness, when I load the game it is right for about half a second, but then whenever I go to the settings and ch...

Yeah, we definitely need to know what counts for the ABI stealth script. Really want to try that now.

Disabling Black ICE without being noticed

Is it actually possible to do this? I've tried EMP-ing the small bot, multitool-ing the laser grid, multitool-ing the box and then termoptic camo-ing past That Guy to his computer. I've tried just using vast amounts of thermoptic camo. I've even tried crouching so I make no sound on the entire level...

No problem with stacking lots of crates. I've spent many happy games building a tower to rescue the Llama at the start of the game. Chuck an item to distract the goats and in and out without any bloodshed...

Re: Why is 'WOW' referenced?

Out of interest, which two maps did you work on?

As for your main post, personally I don't think putting in shout-outs to influences or jokes about other games was a grave blunder. The mod was never about selling, though it did help build a CV for a few well-deserving people.
