It may have already been said, but the new mantling works like a charm now!
Starting the main game playthrough this afternoon.

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced
I purposely left out mention of ranged weapons because technically you can perform takedowns even with pistols and flamethrowers. Ahh, my apologies then. I misunderstood the text originally. So a player can perform a takedown with all weapons then? I basically used "non-ranged weapons" as a synonym...

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced
Okay, proposed alternate text for the Takedown datacube in the Training section: GMDXText9="TAKEDOWNS|n|nIn the field, an agent may be called upon to engage a target across extremely short distances. |n|nNon-lethal weapons, such as the Baton or Riot Prod, are best suited to this task, as stealth is ...

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced
Are you launching the game via the shortcut, or via the .exe in System? I launched it from the shortcut in the Start menu. Should I use the System .exe instead? This is odd. Mantling is very straightforward and reliable, but some people seem to have trouble with it. A short video of what is going w...

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced
Okay, a few small issues from the Training mission of v.9: -The text for the Pistol skill still mentions the UMP, although this weapon has been removed. -This was actually a typo in the vanilla game, but in the Aug screen of the Health menu, it says "No augmentation [cannisters] available!" Canister...

Re: Is it true new Deus Ex:MD split into two games?
So yeah. Square Enix are assholes, but Eidos Montreal did a damn good job. Probably play the game if you like Deus Ex. Definitely play the game if you like Human Revolution. I love Deus Ex, but couldn't stand Human Revolution. Square Enix's repulsive business practices aside (microtransactions in a...

Re: GMDXv8.0 Release
Nice to see WildcatPhoenix making an appearance! *waves to his old comrade I read in the credits that assets from Wildcat's cancelled mod made it into Nihilum. I didn't realize MiB had got past the concept phase. Shame it died. I wouldn't say "died." More like it's just in lurk mode, for now. Await...

Re: Is it true new Deus Ex:MD split into two games?
Will do. And I've been around, just mainly in "lurk" mode for the last few months. Had to abandon the Square Enix forums for MD a while back. There was just nothing left for me to say that hadn't been said 1,000x over the previous years (to no avail, of course). But I'm still eager to keep the real ...

Well I'm always up for that, sure.Cybernetic pig wrote: I don't recall your offer? More testing?
I was referring to the offer to collaborate on a future mod effort.

Re: Is it true new Deus Ex:MD split into two games?
There's plenty of story left to tell in this universe, but the staff at Eidos Montreal are clearly not the ones to tell it.
@Cyber: Very much looking forward to GMDX 9.0, and my offer will remain on the table for however long it takes for us to get some new tools.

Re: Question about MIBs/WIBs
I've got to admit that the disrepancies between the DX Continuity Bible and the game itself did (and kind of still do) bother me. I do prefer the CB's take on Paul and JC having aged normally and being experimented on instead of being grown in a vat (which is what the game more or less says). Someh...

Re: Question about MIBs/WIBs
On a tangentially related note, what exactly was Bob Page doing to himself at Area 51? Was he chemically augmenting his body in order to merge with the Helios AI? I always assumed Walton Simons was biomechanically augmented, since humans without Paul and JC's H-type epsilon deficiency respond to na...

Re: Question about MIBs/WIBs
Very enlightening, thanks gamer! So it sounds like the M/WIBs were once normal human agents who either volunteered for or were recruited into the MJ12 "physiopharmaceutical" augmentation program, which seems to have been proposed as a more cost-effective alternative to the expenses/unpredictability ...

Question about MIBs/WIBs
I have a question for the lore experts regarding the nature of the MIB/WIB agents. In the MJ12 lab beneath UNATCO Headquarters JC finds a book which reads: "PROSPECTUS: SERIES P AGENTS proposal by Dr. Arthur Donovan (Versalife/HK) The Series P Agents are the logical continuation of research resultin...
