Re: Mortecha's Weapon Mod Discussion

Well, it seems this project is on hiatus, together with its author. Too bad. It was promising. Not at all, still here and still in development. And your post was like a day after my last reply, quite confused about thatXD The mod will be a standalone replacement of all the ingame weapons retaining ...

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced

Well, it seems the issue with the installer is not my own but the installer's. It's just been reported by another user after discussing with him whether this was happening to him as well. ;) If your install folder for Deus Ex has a space in it (e.g. C:\Deus Ex or C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steama...

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced

Re: new weapon models. Those are sick. That Assault Gun redesign makes me actually love the weapon, where I previously thought it was one of the silliest weapon designs I had ever seen. Faithful, but enhanced -- perfect for GMDX. The Assault Shotgun and Sniper Rifle are similarly high quality. They ...

Re: Deus Ex seems to go back into the past

Deus Ex didn't have a year or date mentioned in game - those have been decided by the sequels, which have been decidedly more futuristic even though being set anywhere from early to late 21st century. Also, the Square Enix ones don't have shit for continuity - my guess is that Eidos Montreal tried ...

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced

Turok 2 had the same, which is also a N64 game and predates Perfect Dark. It also had a next weapon/prev weapon cycle so you could use whatever method you preferred, but the execution wasn't great so the wheel was arguably better. didn't slow time, didn't bring up a massive window, if done fast eno...

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced

Laser is assigned to backslash, which is to the left of Z. Or at least it is on my QWERTY. As Made In China said, for me '\' is right above enter. Quick aug select with a wheel can work like in Advent Rising - essentially slowing down time, and every click either enables or disables an aug. Infidel...

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced

... Having functional default keybinds is an obvious positive move. I wonder if the toggle laser button could be assigned to something closer (you said 'V' is currently unused), because it ends up being pretty important for those weapons its applied to. I use 'ALT' personally, and the old bind for ...

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced

I like your reasoning, but my concern with offering unique/valuable equipment like GEP ammo or wearables is that you don't actually need to spec into anything to use it. So you might feel incentivized to pick up advanced in Heavy just for the extra rocket and then just rely on base level melee taked...

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced

Random starter items would either encourage rerolling until you get good stuff (pointlessly frustrating), or the items being relatively pointless in the first place. Giving resources for initial skill investment is a kinda neat idea, but I think it'd be a mistake to give anything terribly valuable f...

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced

Late suggestion because I didn't think of it earlier. When you get thrown into the MJ12 lab beneath UNATCO, you lose all of your equipment but keep your ammunition. This is odd, to say the least. Would it be possible to also take your ammunition from you and put it in the room with the rest of your ...

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced

I agree that the actual newest post should be front and center, but I also think it'd be good if there were some way to refer to an archive of previous posts. If you fully transfer over the site, the announcement post for version 9.0 will be gone, which I think would be a shame.

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced

Is the "News" tab not functioning properly? I would assume it would be possible to view the old v9.0 announcement on the new website, but I can't find it.

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced

So I looked into the HDTP vending machine texture, and it looks like there's no identifiable lemon lime flavor (going off of color-coding alone) that could possibly be located next to an orange flavor. And it doesn't look like there was vanilla either. In fact, the HDTP tex is possibly an improveme...

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced

My old laptop from 2012 gets 57-60 FPS at all times in GMDX v8.0. I never experience any frame skipping or stutter except rarely from menus and loading. Since my laptop model is known for overheating after several years, my core temp jumps to 91°C from a baseline 65-75°C, but even with that GMDX v8....

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced

Hope Bird shows up again soon. I'm sure everyone's itching to get their hands on it.

Are there any changes in v9.0 to the hunger system? I don't remember any comments about it.
