DXE Updates

I'm going to use this thread to update people on the recovery process of DXE and anything new that might occur to DXE itself. I've had a few enquiries on the site itself so to save myself from threats or repetition, I'll post the information here. DXE Content I'm currently rebuilding all HTML files,...

Re: Cannot access dxediting.com web page

What I will try and do is set-up some sort of FAQ or index for the threads so people can search them. It will be a long, tedious manual process as there are thousands of threads to look into excluding spam but I will filter out those that are genuinely useful... I will get the old forum database hos...

Re: Cannot access dxediting.com web page

i blame carone. or Jim. mostly carone. That's unfair on Jim [-X I blame carone and ONLY carone. The fate of DXEditing.com has been decided, the site will be archived. Converting the Internet archive data from HTML format to PHP / SQL will be a painfully slow, manual process and there simply isn't e...

Re: Cannot access dxediting.com web page

A quick update, the site download via Warrick recovery software is 8% complete after running for 2 and a half days non-stop (it hasn't even started on the forums yet so it could take an awfully long time). The downloaded content so far is in good condition but saved in HTML format so all data will r...

Re: Cannot access dxediting.com web page

If anyone wants to try to reconstruct these sites using publicly available resources, I've recently come across this utility that should theoretically automate the process. Thanks for the very useful link [-o< The recovery process looks like it will take a few days although I don't know how the rec...

Re: Cannot access dxediting.com web page

The good news is that both Trestio and myself have anticipated this, the bad news is that most of DXE staff is MIA or have forgotten their log-in details, hence the important DXE database is lost. The site itself is backed up, however, the content was stored on SQL. Although I can access the origina...

I suppose people can see it as a bad idea for many reasons, one of them being the age of Deus Ex itself. At the end of the day, it is a matter of personal opinion. Personally, I feel Deus Ex has got that replay value... that sentimental value where you would get bored one day, flick through your gam...

dell is notoriously bad with date estimates. heh, notoriously bad is a rather light word to use... considering I ordered from them 3 times before and all 3 orders never arrived... well, one did, 2 months after I cancelled it and Dell still charged me  This order consists of a funky XPS M1710...

Trestio owes me a cookie for making me come here! Answers to a few questions: Eidos copyright thingabob This is still uncertain. The original plan was to get the tracks remade by Alex Brandon himself. From what I recall, talks started but broke down a few weeks later... what Eidos said will never be...
