I found the problem. I was using HDTP and it uses its own DeusEx.u. I wonder if the 2.0 patch is compatible..

I'm running the game in Wine. Just for the hell of it, I just checked and made sure that the DeusEx.u file in the System folder is indeed the one that comes with the patch. Is there another bug that would be easy to check? I know I'm hoping to meet Ford Schick again when I go back to NY, so we'll se...

Is there anything special that needs to be done to use this unofficial patch beyond just replacing System\DeusEx.u with the one provided? I haven't checked anything else, but the pistol downgrade exploit still works for me.

As usual, I'm joining the thread late. There's a few games where I'll be very selective and strategic with choices like augs. Not far in, I have everything I want, and I end up installing the spy-bot aug equivalent. Seriously, even on esoteric Deus Ex forums, people think the spy bot is useless. Eve...

Could anybody tell me how to do whatever's necessary to put Ford Schick back in, after you rescue him? I don't want to use Shifter because I dislike several things it adds.

It might be for the better, but it depends on how much they value their work. I very much disagree that it is (or, at least, should be) a matter of how much they value their work. Maybe I'm just a communist*, but I think a sense of ownership of one's creative work is downright contrary to the artis...

So, HDTP things are continuing to go forward at an unknown, but surely slow, rate. Being a passive consumer, I won't make any complaints. But might I just note that... Releasing all textures and other work that has so far been done, to the general public, would *not harm or in any other way set back...

Forums are quiet lately. I've been away busy. I think many people here are students taking finals. Well, I am a student, but that's not why I've personally been pretty much away from the forums. Not that I'm complaining, but my excitement at the idea of HDTP finally being released has gone dormant....
