Re: GMDX v8.0 Release Date Revealed
Some of the viewers of the video were as oblivious as the uploader, and tried to argue with people, even after being told the graphics had nothing to do with Revision at all. It was quite the sight to see. Worse yet is that the uploader has yet to retitle the video. Indeed. The way to do this video...

Re: GMDX v8.0 Release Date Revealed
Goddamn it. Candyland video, we meet again. Check the comments. https://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/3wchhx/gmdx_deus_ex_mod_all_demonstration_videos/ Not sure what you mean. The Candyland video is more or less a piece of complete fucktardery that got released as a "Revision" review. The problem...

Re: GMDX v8.0 Release Date Revealed
I see GMDX hit the top #100 list for MOTY, along with Revision. Please be sure to vote.Cybernetic pig wrote:So nice to see the ongoing support of the Deus Ex community, as always.

Re: Stephanie Maxwell
This is about like all the "player bounce" bugs that exist in the other conversations - make them dependent on one another, you can't get anything out of one without frobbing the other one first (for instance the bums at the gas station).

Re: Stephanie Maxwell
Vandenberg. Female Scientist held hostage. This is the only vanilla/GOTY map bug I've yet to fix as far as I am aware. She just refuses to talk to the player. I was wondering if anyone has fixed this, to save me time figuring it out myself. Not fixed, but I can tell you the condition involved. She'...

Re: Stylization vs Detail (continued for the Revision thread
Or, you can refuse it because it isn't good enough...what does HDTP's sawed off add for example? It's worse than the vanilla one. Since you brought it up, I had to go do a comparison since I don't usually pick up the sawed-off. so-shotgun comparison.jpg This one is indeed confusing, and I'm not arg...

Re: Deus Ex Revision is 2 days away
Good way as any to get rid of them (I loaded an old save game to get that). And it's GMDX: I threw them OVER the gate.Cybernetic pig wrote: Why have you thrown NSF corpses through the gaps in the gate? There are no corpses there vanilla or in GMDX.

Re: Stylization vs Detail (continued for the Revision thread
An argument can be made for anything, the nature of the argument and the value of it is what matters. Why should Gunther's likeness be sacred but not Bob Page's status as looking more powerful and impressive than Walton Simmons? It's one thing to argue that the way something is depicted is not fait...

Re: Stylization vs Detail (continued for the Revision thread
One of the most obvious quirks of HDTP for instance, is that Bob Page looks unimportant compared to Walton Simmons. This isn't a problem if you're just playing so you can experience the new visuals or something new, but it is a baffling quirk if you're going in expecting to experience the story sim...

Re: Deus Ex Revision is 2 days away
I'll leave this screen shot here - a great illustration of the silliness of the "openness, dead end I can't get into" slam that's getting made on Revision by Kim Winchen and others:

Re: Deus Ex Revision is 2 days away
That was less planning and more just how it worked once I got it to actually play. As for what is "Revision" - I'm finding it difficult to tell since Caustic Creative seem to insist that NewVision and HDTP are essential parts of Revision (which is even more complicated when you consider HDTP was co...

Re: Deus Ex Revision is 2 days away
Honestly I don't know about other people, but Kim Wincen didn't bother with Deus Ex mods until he heard of and got Revision, and so it's obvious he wouldn't have known or tried out HDTP and New Vision before then. Then I could say that he needed to educate himself (as do most of the reviewers) on w...

Re: Deus Ex Revision is 2 days away
Don't forget how there were virtually no complaints about Revision's archi additions back when the first build covering 50% of the game was released in 2011. Intriguing . TBH, I don't think Revision was that high profile to be known back in those days (Demo 1.31). The main thing I've been looking f...

Re: Deus Ex Revision is 2 days away
I'd imagine it is a bit confusing as to what the mod does based on the descriptions alone, which would explain why people thought HDTP & New Vision were Revision: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pRiiIhLnsk This is indeed a definite problem. I won't say too much about the rest of this thread becaus...

I just received permission from the relevant parties to do this. I like the name, so look for it under that in the next day or so. I'll announce when I know it's up. You may have already seen the post, but didn't get it copied here. http://offtopicproductions.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=12161 It'...
