Re: What to Install to Get All HD Textures and Related MODS
He seems to know something about mapping and coding, but I should let him speak for himself. More or less it was just general notes for whoever that might want to try it, including duplicating the problem you noted on the first hand. That said, I'm not incredibly sure a seamless solution outside of...

Re: What to Install to Get All HD Textures and Related MODS
Being unfamiliar with the game, I get knocked off a lot, and not to mention I make a lot of mistakes. Save, save and save some more to survive and to continue to fight another day. Ha ha. I always just kept saves to starts of certain sequences, simply because if I screwed up I needed to redo it to ...

Re: What to Install to Get All HD Textures and Related MODS
Currently only you and me here. I've been reading. I looked at the source (mainly Kentie's re-compile stuff) to find where it addresses save games, but I can't say I see that in source. I'm sure I missed what I'm looking for (or where to look for it). If I knew where to look, it probably wouldn't b...

Re: What to Install to Get All HD Textures and Related MODS
I think I've got everything I need to get this game running as intended. Good. When you're ready for custom games/levels as mods for Deus Ex, there's about a dozen or so of those like "The Nameless Mod" and "ZODIAC". You'll see some references here, but if you want help with things to find, don't h...

Re: What to Install to Get All HD Textures and Related MODS
Edit: I noticed that you crafted a launcher, with version 2.03 available, I think. How about that? Maybe I should try yours? It's more or less like Kentie's but does things a bit differently (a lot less intrusive). It's more of a loader that makes setting changes for you than it is a replacement De...

The scripts and original textures and code and stuff. Not the completed parts.fretzie wrote:What do you mean by source?

Re: What to Install to Get All HD Textures and Related MODS
I ran the game using the original DeusEx.exe launcher (no other launcher was provided), to determine what I got. It didn't look like I had any new textures by just viewing the beginning of the game on the first dock. Actually there's two modifications. One called HDTP, one called New Vision. HDTP a...

Re: I want to document this mod, so i have some questions...
El Cid was around for a long time actually. I think it started with him announcing a mod project he was starting, and when people offered him advice and warnings he took it pretty badly. I believe he eventually managed to antagonise everyone . He even showed up here to post for a little bit, and I ...

find the meta story behind certain places, characters, and design decisions. My intent is to try and tell those stories when i start recording, sort of a 3rd party developer commentary. As I recall, about everything in TNM has some connection to people in DX forums (usually Planet Deus Ex, but DX E...

Re: Found a HQ rip of the Deus Ex PS2 Orchestral theme
If you see audio present in different frequencies, then congrats! You found a track containing more data. Good to know about that site. But the CD tracks I have here was the same frequency/Mp3 bitrate/everything else. So it was pretty hard to say the link offered here was any better than what I alr...

As I recall, I said that because 1110 (off of a patch I downloaded) didn't change the map files - a version change doesn't dictate...

Re: Issue with graphics and banding with Deus Ex
TBH, I stopped using the DX10 drivers on my newest rig because of similar problems and went to the DX9 driver - it just seems overall more stable. So the first question I would ask is if this happens with the DX9 drivers?

Re: Found a HQ rip of the Deus Ex PS2 Orchestral theme
I'm not sure from listening to this that it's any different than the CD tracks that got released off the original Deus Ex that I have from the newer/current disk I have. There was 30 tracks on this and another 15 I found online in a similar manner to this. I know comparison-listening two similar tra...

Speaking of the bums at the gas station... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdCYuf1H2uY Another great example of interdependent NPCs causing problems when something is broken. Rushed production schedules I suppose, as the Gilbert and Sandra Renton sequence was relatively fine. The funnest one is ret...

Re: GMDX v8.0 Release Date Revealed
There is, but I don't consider that worthy of programming. Sorry. Bugs should be completely eliminated. Yeah it's kind of a relative of the grenade surfing thing, where you can bounce off of a grenade to jump or ride a grenade down from a high place and not get hurt. Or how things on top of boxes y...
