Re: Mortecha's Weapon Mod Discussion
Personally I wouldn't mind both iron sights/optical sights and scopes in the game. But if only if you make sure that by default, meaning if you don't use the aformentioned weapon mods, the crosshair never locks on completely, not even on master level, leaving the player with a small miss chance. Wel...

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced
I think more dialogue is always a good thing, because it helps the story-telling and the overall atmosphere of the game. But to be honest what I'd rather see GMDX borrow from Revision or implement in some occasions where Revison didn't bother are npc reactions to certain player decisions. Without go...

Re: GMDX Art Thread
Wasn't talking about the Mona Lisa. That'd be way too cliché. That's why I mentioned the stolen/missing ones. Yeah the flat of Rene and O could use one or two. Good idea. About paintings being stolen from the chateau: Well they didn't take Beth's favorite painting either so they might as well leave ...

Re: GMDX Art Thread
Regarding Art: Slap me if this has already been discussed, but I'd like to ask how hard would it be to add a few real life (preferably high-res) painting to the game? More specifically I'm talking about the ones that have either gone missing or have been stolen. I'm talking about Vermeer's 'The Conc...

Re: GMDX Art Thread
Kelkos Which reminds me: CyberP Can I add the BFG from Doom 3???? Can somebody send the files and convert it so I can add it to the game and put my name into the credits??? Of course only after I've put a few blood stains onto it using photoshop!!! Edit: Sorry, forgot you asked us to stop spamming ...

Re: GMDX Art Thread
I don't disagree with that post. I just don't think anyone should be taking issue with the existence of a thug (it hasn't even been specified which thug/s yet) with a kitchen knife, because it happens and it is common. Yes, an occupational mugger or whatever is very likely (although still not neces...

Re: GMDX Art Thread
Yeah it's very common and in case of self defense like with your brother or if you break into a house (in Deus Ex) and the owner "grabs" a kitchen knife to defend himself/herself then it's fine. It's also sort of fine for desperate junkies to grab one. I'm talking about thugs and muggers who activel...

Re: GMDX Art Thread
Thugs and muggers don't use kitchen knives, because they need weapons that are easy to conceal and a retractable switchblade does the job perfectly. While you could argue, that they could hide them under their jackets as well I have yet to meet some tough guy in real life who runs around with a kitc...

Re: GMDX Art Thread
Yes, 6 whole pages of Kelkos forcing a CS knife and some random bushes onto this mod with hopes and delusions we would be impressed and immediately include it so that he gets credit, then not listening to anyone when things don't go his way... A switchblade would be nice for thugs too, but I think ...

Re: GMDX Art Thread
Ok, did you guys seriously argue on the last few pages about kitchen knives? xD From a gameplay perspective it's unnecessary, because we already have like 5 melee weapons which basically do the same thing. From a realism perpective there are like a whole bunch of melee weapons that I'd rather see ad...

Re: The Deus Ex Mod List
Not sure how GMDX should be categorized according to that list, as it is a gameplay/bugpatch/audio design/level design, and to a lesser extent a graphics mod all in one, yet isn't a total conversion. May as well just leave it as is until it comes out of development. GMDX needs its own category 8) C...

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced
Well if retexturing is not an issue, then might as well borrow The Nameless Mod's fire extinguisher. I think the model itself looks great.
Edit: In fact, I'm satisfied with the texture as well.

I agree.Made in China wrote:To be honest, it's not really that low poly. It'd probably need some retexturing though.

Re: GMDXv9.0 Announced
Weapon switch animations aren't really good, or to be more accurate, actually exist. It's quite jarring seeing NPCs switch weapons. No arguments there, but I think most animations in DX are jarring. I don't know, I just think it looks stupid seeing an npc charge at you with a big-ass flamethrower w...
