depends how you played it through already. the stealthy way is always fun and takes a some time. or trying to read many of those books while you come by them.

Do one of the Alginonian playthroughs: For example, play the entire game without using any inventory items, without using any augs, without ever getting spotted, even by a camera, etc.

You can try the Chronos mod, they have a bullet time aug, but I don't know if you can play all the way through DX with it. They've also changed the textures on the first level and some of the characters.

I'm sure you can find some interesting weapon mods if you look around. Here's the most awesome-looking mod, which is basically just Smoke having some fun adding some really cool details to the game, we're using a bunch of features from it in TNM:

My favourites are the water fountain that leaves a pouring pipe behind when you smash it, the melee weapons which get soaked in blood when you use them, and the plasma rifle which can shoot through walls. The new fire effects rock too though.

I'll have to try reading every book. I don't think I've read one yet so, that'd be a change.

Wow, I actually didn't know about those. The second link is broken, though.

I tried last to play "non violent" and when I had to "NSF" and other ones you have to kill, I used darts, prods etc...

Then I played the game normal, but stopped and look around for everything in maps, took a while.

Last time I played, I did the "NO ONE LEAVES ALIVE" rule. Basically you kill everything and anything without "Invincible = on" Paul says some funny stuff when you go to the 747 and try it.

A little late, but there's also Shifter, and Hardcore:

http://mods.moddb.com/8002/shifter/

Hardcore may be a little too radical for most, but Shifter makes for an enjoyable game without changing too little or too much in my opinion. Not to mention to recent versions are HDTP compatible without any work having to be done by the player.

Reminds me of the old Wolfenstein 3d difficulty setting, "I Am Death Incarnate".

I'll bet this relies heavily on melee combat since you'd need a lot of ammunition to kill every single NPC.
