about the fists:
We have gloves explicitly for knocking people out I think, but the default is lethal (I think this was a conscious design choice but the fists have existed longer than I've been on the team)

It's the other way around. Well at least it should be. By default fists should do knockout damage. One of the glove types are the "Lethal Gloves". I'll let you guess whether or not they kill the victim.

oh you're right, I must've gotten the stunned ones mixed up. here's the damage type table right now:

FT_normal: 'KnockedOut'
FT_spiked: 'Shot'
FT_shock: 'Shocked'
FT_stun: 'FistStunned'

edit- so the damage type has nothing to do with any behavioral differences between the fists and the baton
