Space Station Blow-up.

I have completed the explosion sequence of the Space station, see the picture included for how I think it should work.

1: The camera should pan slowly round the station, maybe 3-4 seconds.

2: Cut to the second location marked and Zoom in slowly. Trigger the first explosion. I would suggest some nice shaky cam action when it explodes.

3: Cut to the docking door. Slow zoom OUT (the arrow is pointing the wrong way sorry) while the shuttle is escaping. Once the shuttle is off camera…

4: Cut to camera 4, trigger the second set of explosions and slowly zoom in.

5: Once the explosions have finished and the station is rotating cut to camera 5, zoom in and fade.

Download THIS map. It includes the triggers and placed TNT boxes. All you need to do is copy everything except the room, platform and switch. Trigger the round robin at the correct time and the rest should follow. If you actually play the map you can see how it all works.

Finally, I think I've changed the code slightly since it was uploaded so it may need to uploaded again, I have also changed the model animation and that is included in the rar too.

HEY! Who's the cutscene director here!? Huh!? HUH!?!?! HOW DARE YOU INTRUDE UPON MY CREATIVE VISION!?

No actually what I mean to say is that sounds like a good start to base the cutscene on, I'll see how it looks with the proper skybox and then pick it up from there. Thanks a lot Phas :)

Holy crap that looks good Phas, you're missing some TNT explosions at the end there, but we'll take care of that! GREAT job!

Oh cool, that docking sequence rocks! I take it you'll simply reverse it for the blow up sequence?

It's going to be a lot better using the BSP version for the docking as the model isn't detailed enough for a close up so that's cool!

What I did try to do was have the whole station blow up at the end but for some reason I couldn't get it to work. I set the station's hit points to 70 and the last TNT crate to cause 100 damage but the station doesn't blow up so I dunno if that can be fixed or anything... If you want that of course?

I actually like that it's hanging around, derelict and charred, so I think we should keep it. I just noticed some pieces of it are blown off the top at the end without actually having any explosions go off. How did you make sure the explosions didn't trigger each other?

There should be an explosion at the top, are you sure you didn't miss it? I made sure every big piece that's blown off has an explosion before hand.

I set the explosion damage to 0. ;)

Oh, I think I know which bit you mean, the two appartment blocks right? That isn't facing the player in my map so I didn't think to put explosions there. Are you happy to do it? or would you like me to?

Well since you know the timing, it might be easier for you to do it.

I can't start the cutscene for reals this weekend as I aim to wrap up the item balancing of M24 before the semester starts on Monday, but I plan to make slow and steady progress on all ending sequences throughout February and March.

There is an explosion there, it happens just before those bits go flying, I can put a bit more of a delay on it though if you want?

Ok, I've updated it a bit now. I've put more explosions in and the station rotates slightly.

Tell me what you think of the rotation. It might look a little wierd at the end because there's some rotation in the animation so it rotates fast then slows down when it stops animating, I can remove the animated rotation so it uses the engine at the end if you prefer.
