Door permanently locked in AlphaOne's bar
In the first city area in the game, whenever I leave AlphaOne's bar, the door gets locked behind me and I can't go back in (without cheating). It has infinite lock and damage strength.
Is this normal or is it a glitch?
Also, you can't pick up or destroy Kylie's body after you kill her, so it spooks the other people in the bar.

The locked door is an unfortunate glitch that snuck in. Use this cheat to open the door:
Code: Select all
opensesame
-Life does not snap to the x-axis
Re: Door permanently locked in AlphaOne's bar
Alternatively, I used a LAM on the side door where Symwhatever is, entered the back way and lockpicked through the side door... uh....

Lol, that works, too! We'll be fixing it in the first patch, in any case.

Oh that's a bug I thought the closed for the night.
Re: Door permanently locked in AlphaOne's bar
As designed. It's something to do with Kylie being important. All I can say is, if you don't want to spook people, don't kill anyone.Ilya wrote:Also, you can't pick up or destroy Kylie's body after you kill her, so it spooks the other people in the bar.

Re: Door permanently locked in AlphaOne's bar
Ran into this bug right now. Maybe this helps:
For me the bar is closed down, when I access NVShaker's prerecorded message and submit my HUD-Codes. Until before the bar is open, after this it's closed. Actually that is a bit annoying, where does the player want to go, when he's told AO has confiscated a programm, that's to obtain?
Daniel
PS: You should change the mods name to "The Awesome Mod". Impressive, what you developed.

Re: Door permanently locked in AlphaOne's bar
I assumed the door locking was an event triggered after you knock out Alpha Operator for that mission. Sort of the bar being closed because you whacked the bartender kind of thing.
I also figured out going in the back way also though.

Re: Door permanently locked in AlphaOne's bar
Nah. At my point of the storyline you just got the mission to go to AO, and maybe knock him down, if he doesn't give you the program. But it seems, that the door looks at slightly different times, for each player. Right?Jcelios wrote:I assumed the door locking was an event triggered after you knock out Alpha Operator for that mission. BTW: Loved your insights on the DX AIs.

Re: Door permanently locked in AlphaOne's bar
For some people the door is locked even if they have not done violence.
[Added:] This is in response to walton simons, who for some reason has changed his name.

Please read the Bugs thread in the Help & Support forum. The inexplicable closing of Sol's Bar is a known bug and will be fixed in version 1.0.1.

Well lets face it, naming yourself after a DX character on a DX board just isn't very sensible. Not to mention kind of lame.chris the cynic wrote:This is in response to walton simons, who for some reason has changed his name.
I've been going with Jcelios for a number of years now from everything to emails, IM and MMO characters.

If you say so.
So anyway, the most recent news post on Theos Ek is that the Theos Ek blog will have up to date news on Deus Ex 3, follow the link and you'll have no such luck. Perhaps it is time for a new news post, for example, "Hey, I have a bookstore. Download The Nameless Mod."
Also, I've heard of a thing that allows you to extract the original .con files, so maybe we can get the dialogue text on the site at some point since that should be damned helpful, assuming it works.
