Downtown Weapon Stash
So, I've read the datacube by the body in the canal. And found the derelict builds and I *think* the ledge I want to climb.
Any suggestions on how to build a suitably large/stable climbing set? Without arm augs preferably.

Right near the ldge is a whole bunch of boxes and trash cans. Scour Downtown for some small cubes to use as stepping stones (there's one by the diner for example). You might be able to get by with one, I recommend two.
Then, just build a stack. Remember the medium height boxes you can't pick up you can still push.

Or use grenades.
Re: Downtown Weapon Stash
I managed to get up there only using trash cans and the small white trash bags. But it took me a while...
Re: Downtown Weapon Stash
Yeah, white thrashbags are small enough to jump on.
Re: Downtown Weapon Stash
On my second play through I got up there from the bottom using only 2 trash cans and no augs at all. You will need a standard lidless trash can from the alley and a small trash can that can be found upstairs where the goats have the unconscious llama.
Just put the large TC (trash can) closest to the wall, and the STC (small trash can) in front of it. Jump on top of the STC, then from there onto the LTC, pick up the STC and drop it on top of the LTC facing the wall, jump on top of it and onto the first ledge. Pick up the STC and put it aside and pick up the LTC and put on the other side. Rinse, repeat, voila!

Grenades are the simplest form of climbing. You only need 2. No need to get every trashcan in the city.

Re: Downtown Weapon Stash
Grenade climbing is an exploit. It's not really an honorable legit tactic.
Re: Downtown Weapon Stash
Stacking stuff is the official correct solution. But there's a reason we didn't fix grenade climbing: It's occasionally highly convenient.

How do you know that the grenades don't just have some rearly sticky side that can hold a person's weight? It is the future after all!Jetsetlemming wrote:Grenade climbing is an exploit. It's not really an honorable legit tactic.

Re: Downtown Weapon Stash
yeah, like barbed nanotubes facing down so gren can be removed by pulling upwards
Re: Downtown Weapon Stash
But only certain types of grenades, for some reason.
No barbed nanotubes for scramble nades.
(though hey: nanotubes give you cancer anyway...allegedly)

I never really understood how to grenade jump, so I usually build a tower from the nearby garbage cans and bags
