Convo Issue with Firestaff

PDX Storyline. This occurred quite by accident. I was on the quest for the Firestaff. After killing ZP and locating the Firestaff, I forgot to put it in inventory. So after returning to the archeologist, forget his name, I showed him the staff. The convo playedas if I had the thing in inventory. Not thinking much of it, I continued on to PDX to deliver the staff to the boys. Everybody was happy I returned with the staff, and Evil Invasion played the convo of using the staff to locate DD. Before leaving PDX, I found the staff laying on a chair next to Evil's office, if I recall correctly.

I have since deleted those saved games, so I haven't tried to go back and double check. It wasn't until I had moved on to ABI, that I suddenly realized what had happened. I searched the forums and didn't see this reported anywhere. Which doesn't surprise me, everyone else picked up the staff.

Hmm, yeah you get the goal updated as soon as you login/push the button (i don't remember) to lower down the firestaff. On that point I became suspicious and thought of trying to leave the firestaff where it is, because i had to drop the Phat-Rifle to get some free space in my inventar.
Unfortunately i decided against it and took it with me. (had i knew that before i wouldn't have droped the Phat-Rifle)

Before leaving PDX, I found the staff laying on a chair next to Evil's office, if I recall correctly.

Yeah, that's the normal behaviour, because you don't get it back after the convo of Evil Invasion.

Nevertheless, interesting thing! I don't know if it's really a bug, it could have been a gameplay-compromise so that you don't have to empty your inventory to take the firestaff with you, but nevertheless reach the goal...

Normal progress would require you to have the staff in inventory before the convos would play. I'm sure Jonas will check it out. Then, next time, you will need to drop some inventory.
