Playing DX in TNM
I was wondering what I would need to do in order to play Deus Ex with the advantages of all the lovely new weapons of TNM (except PHAT rays IIRC). Is there anything else I need to do besides moving the DX maps into the TNM/Maps folder?
I ask because I tried this a moment ago with the training halls and the face-pics in PMs were missing, though this may be because my copy of DX is acting up. I've been putting off a full reinstall as I'll have to reinstall and repatch TNM too, though that is more laziness than anything.
Also is it possible to carry over my appearence, skills and equipment from a TNM file to a DX map? I always start with default Trestkon and no equipment, and I'd at least like to have the coat and shades version of Trestkon if he's going to sound like JC. Kudos for having Phas comment if Trest wears a JC-style coat by the way.

Re: Playing DX in TNM
I don't think you need to move the maps. As for getting the PMs without PM images, that isn't just you. I get that too.
What I would do is start up TNM, customize your character as you desire, grab the equipment you want, and then open the legend menu (enter the code "legend") and travel to whatever Deus Ex map you want (the first one if you want to play through the whole thing) using that.
I'll check to see what's going on with coats and such.

Yes, can we direct delta to the thread in TNM general discussions. Playing TNM weapons in DX I believe. There's some stuff very much related to this there. Also you look like Tres but you have JC's voice.chris the cynic wrote:I don't think you need to move the maps. As for getting the PMs without PM images, that isn't just you. I get that too.

Ok, if you travel using the legend menu you do indeed get to keep your coat and eyewear.
The thread bobby 55 is talking about is here.

Thanks guys, I didn't know about the legend or phasrox menus (I'm guessing those are what you get for finding easter eggs and beating radish adventure) but they're going to be a lot of fun (makes spawning items much easier). Thanks again.
Edit: Just tested running DX through the legend menu. No problems so far, apart from the face pics not appearing in messages.

No it's what you get for hanging around here and picking up a few tricks from DX moddersDelta2501 wrote:Thanks guys, I didn't know about the legend or phasrox menus (I'm guessing those are what you get for finding easter eggs and beating radish adventure) but they're going to be a lot of fun (makes spawning items much easier). The only way to fix that would be to start DX instead and just summon TNM weapons.Edit: Just tested running DX through the legend menu. No problems so far, apart from the face pics not appearing in messages.

Re: Playing DX in TNM
Speaking of summoning weapons, how does one spawn the customised weapons (Alpha's pistol etc.)? They don't appear on the phasrox menu so I assume you'd need their game name so you can use "summon weapon_______".
Re: Playing DX in TNM
There is a list somewhere on these forums, I just can't find it right now.Delta2501 wrote:Speaking of summoning weapons, how does one spawn the customised weapons (Alpha's pistol etc.)? Re: Playing DX in TNM
After hearing from Jaedar that "summon weaponuniqueao" worked for Alpha's pistol I was able to work out the others with a little guesswork. If anyone is interested:
ZP's Rifle is "weaponuniquezp"
Kylie's rifle is "weaponuniquekylie"
I didn't bother working out what the code for NVSHacker's Screwdriver was but I'm guessing its just uniqueweaponnvs.

Here's what I have written down from the notes I made - I think originally copied from the TCP site?:heliosentity101 wrote:I asked this question in a totaly diffrent thread , but anyways . Cassandra guns and ammo:
When using the Summon command on these when using TCPPlayerCharlotte, the package name TCPCore.TCP* can be dropped. However, when summoning objects from DX, the package name DeusEx.* has to be added to the front, and spawnmass doesn't work for DX objects at all.
Note: Some of the weapons do take DX weapon modifications, so experiment.

That ought to do it. If you really want some fun, edit out this from TCPPlayerCharlotte:
shotTheFoodDamage = -700;
bShotTheFood = true;
If you actually want the killswitch to work, set -700 to 700 (the point you actually die in mine is the point that it gets so high DX laps it round to a negative number, gibbing you. Hehe.)
