Using HDTP with TNM

Post by Jonas »

To enable HDTP, open \DeusEx\TNM\System\TNM.ini and find the section called [Core.System]. Copy the two following lines (highlighted with bold) and insert them into the proper order in the list:

Paths=..\HDTP\System\*.u goes above Paths=..\System\*.u
Paths=..\HDTP\Textures\*.utx goes above Paths=..\Textures\*.utx

Paths=..\TNM\System\*.u and Paths=..\TNM\Textures\*.utx goes above both of them. Feel free to post any further questions here and we will try to answer.

Do we need to install that HDTP demo from 2 years ago to make this work or does this only unlocks HDTP stuff inside the game/mod?

I'm getting some odd issues running HDTP with TNM. Some TNM props are being incorrectly replaced by the HDTP ones.

I'll upload some pictures:

Are you sure you placed the HDTP lines in the correct places? Im using HDTP and its rendering the correct models. It should be like:
[Core.System]
PurgeCacheDays=30
SavePath=..\TNM\Save
CachePath=..\Cache
CacheExt=.uxx
Paths=..\TNM\System\*.u
Paths=..\TNM\Maps\*.dx
Paths=..\TNM\Textures\*.utx
Paths=..\TNM\Sounds\*.uax
OggPath=..\TNM\Music\Ogg\
Paths=..\HDTP\System\*.u
Paths=..\System\*.u
Paths=..\Maps\*.dx
Paths=..\HDTP\Textures\*.utx
Paths=..\Textures\*.utx
Paths=..\Sounds\*.uax
Paths=..\Music\*.umx
Suppress=DevLoad
Suppress=DevSave
Suppress=DevNetTraffic
Suppress=DevGarbage
Suppress=DevKill
Suppress=DevReplace
Suppress=DevSound
Suppress=DevCompile
Suppress=DevBind
Suppress=DevBsp

I remember stuff like that in Shifter's HDTP support with Zodiac. Specifically CIA's anti air defense being potted plant rockets. :lol:

Works with everything EXCEPT the Crowbar.

I typed

Code: Select all

give weaponcrowbar
I got the OLD Crowbar obviously...

Then I typed
give weapontnmcrowbar
I got it. but it was the same Crowbar as Vanilla DX...

Is this supposed to happen? I get the other HDTP models that come with the demo/TNM but not the Crowbar, I WANT MY HD SKULL BREAKER!!!! >.>

Ah yeah, the problem with the models was Shifter.

After taking it out everything worked fine.

That's normal. Whenever HDTP finishes their next release, we'll go over our new stuff and make sure we use all their assets where applicable.

Update: I looked and I found I have two TNM.ini files. One is in Deus Ex/System. The other is in C:\DeusEx\TNM\System. The latter I have changed for HDTP. Why do I have two? Should I change both of them?

The Deus Ex\TNM\System is this:

[Core.System]
PurgeCacheDays=30
SavePath=..\TNM\Save
CachePath=..\Cache
CacheExt=.uxx
Paths=..\TNM\System\*.u
Paths=..\TNM\Maps\*.dx
Paths=..\TNM\Textures\*.utx
Paths=..\TNM\Sounds\*.uax
OggPath=..\TNM\Music\Ogg\
Paths=..\TNM\System\*.u
Paths=..\TNM\Textures\*.utx
Paths=..\HDTP\System\*.u
Paths=..\System\*.u
Paths=..\Maps\*.dx
Paths=..\TNM\System\*.u
Paths=..\TNM\Textures\*.utx
Paths=..\HDTP\Textures\*.utx
Paths=..\Textures\*.utx
Paths=..\Sounds\*.uax
Paths=..\Music\*.umx
Suppress=DevLoad
Suppress=DevSave
Suppress=DevNetTraffic
Suppress=DevGarbage
Suppress=DevKill
Suppress=DevReplace
Suppress=DevSound
Suppress=DevCompile
Suppress=DevBind
Suppress=DevBsp

It is actually longer! I guess I might have added more than I was suppose. But does this longer one still activate the HDTP?
