Have you got a story and stuff? .. Sorry not really clear there.. erm
I mean to say do you like know what your doing with the mod.. Its just general Mapping/Coding/Textures Ect to complete now?

I'm not much of a modder tbh so i cant really help ya but i was just curious cause I really liked your idea of a mod. I might be able to help look over your story if you need help or whatever unless you have it sorted.

Awesome! I've been watching the Deus Ex Patch thread, really impressed, and wishing it could have been a umod modifier for a released DXR. I mentioned before I've become a bit pessimistic; I know Akerfeldt could do it, but he is busy with real life. If you were working on it Y|yukichigai, I'd be confident again.

I definitely understand reluctance to open up a mod. By writing all the code, the entire project is quckly understandable to the author. A partner programmer may join and not do much (which I believe happened often with DXR or UB), and will get a part of the credit. The code would also be released, uncontrolled, and possibly made public. When others called for open-sourcing DXR, I had to remember that FOSS licences aren't magic and most projects only have one or two dedicated programmers. IIRC Akerfeldt said that some of the code was undocumented and embarrassing, potentially incomprehensible to anyone but the author, and intended to be replaced once the mod was generally working. "Possessive" can sound negative, but it's like a work of art. A person can be possessive of something when it really is theirs. I like that you don't mind alternate versions with different names Y|yukichigai, like the official Linux kernel versus the many other unofficial Linux kernel branches, that's cool.

Still, we don't have anything. The alpha was removed years ago. Latest Moddb content from 2006. The screenshots were years old, but they're offline now . The last news I remember was that the full game was probably playable, but still needing a lot of work, and though work had stopped it was hoped to be possible over the coming summer. I don't know if Fender2k1 was able to contact Akerfeldt a couple months back, but hopefully the code is available if he can't be contacted. Aside from "therocknod", I saw an interview at TDPP in 2008 where Darren was interviewed as part of HDTP, so maybe someone in HDTP would know how to contact him.

Shut up everyone, it's not dead.

Ok, so it's kinda dead. Hopefully the latest copy Akerfeldt was working on can be released.
