Hello everyone- I recently posted this to the PlanetDeusEx forum and was informed that pretty much nobody reads it anymore, and they suggested I post here instead:

Hello! So I'm pretty pumped for DX: Human Revolution, and I was hoping to play through the original again for old time's sake on my Windows 7 laptop. Obviously I assumed there was some likelihood that it wouldn't run normally, so I installed this DirectX 10 renderer:

...And I also installed this new .exe file:

The main menu launches fine, I can even make my initial skill point adjustments on my character. But when I actually try to start playing the game, the main menu just reloads. The same thing happens if I try to start the training missions. So essentially, the .exe launches and the menu works, but I can't actually get into the game itself.
Thoughts????
Main menu loads, keeps reloading, game itself won't start??

Have you tried running it in DirectX 9 or with the enhanced openGL yet? I can't even get DX to run with the DirectX 10 renderer.
Edit: I should add that's with the original Deus Ex exe. I don't think you should be running the new exe and DX 10 together just yet. Reinstall the original exe and see how that goes.
