Converting UMX

Post by Onemaster »

Hey.
I was looking for a program that could convert Deus Ex' .umx music files into mp3 or wav, but just couldn't find any free. Every of them that could convert umx cost like 20.
U guys have any suggestions?

EDIT
Oh never mind, I just found ModPlug that can just save them as .it and now it's easy to convert them to mp3. Np.
I wish there was something more I could say.

You can't really "convert" because they're completely different formats that describe different things. You essentially have to get a mod player to play them back while you record them, although apparently you've found something that can do this automatically (I know Foobar2000 can, but I'm not sure what else).

And yeah, ModPlug can save them at .it files because... well, I'm not even sure what the difference is between UMX and ImpulseTracker files. The tracks themselves are the same mod format, anyway.

Can't you just use VLC to play them?
Paul, I know you said no phone messages, but South Street's going up in smoke. We'll have to meet at the subway station.

Well yea I can but it isn't as easy to get them mp3 with it.
I tried converting them with VLC but for some reason it just doesnt't do it for me...
No problem anymore though, ModPlug and Free Mp3 Wma Ogg converter did the job.
