GOG.com News release: http://www.gog.com/en/news/new_release_ ... ar_edition
GOG.com Game Card: http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/deus_ex/

As with all GOG.com releases, it's in a DRM-free installer, with plenty of extras available for separate download, including the soundtrack.

I already own DX on Steam, but will likely get it from GOG at some point to show my support for their business model. And because I really want the soundtrack.

I do like the idea of GOG but I've never really needed to buy a game from there. I'd be tempted to do it for the soundtrack if I didn't already have it in beautiful, beautiful FLAC.

Yeah, Steam and retail version already owned. I'm still likely to get it at some stage as well... for the soundtrack.

They have LBA 1 and 2 (that actually work in Win7).. Go git to it

Not to mention PS:T.

Haven't run it though yet to see if they fixed the issue with spells I had on my old PC when playing it, which made spellbattles unbearable (since huge screen corruption).

I did notice they had those - very tempting indeed. I'm curious how they got either to run - there were an assload of problems with DirectX input controls and LBA2. Unless they got access to the source code, then that would be fairly trivial I'd imagine.

GOG bundles DOS games with a pre-configured copy of DOSBox.

(EDIT: Didn't see that the second one was originally a Windows release. That I don't have any idea on.)

Yes that would make sense for the first one - although one of the original programmers made an entirely new engine for it called LBAWin that worked very well. I don't think the 2nd was even released for DOS though, since it was 1997.

There's something ironic about playing back (relatively small) module files and recording them as FLAC. Although I suppose mod support isn't very good in most portable music devices.

I believe the FLAC rip was from the GOTY CD, which might be higher quality than the compressed samples made for the final game's UMX's. The theme music is the updated PS2 recording.
