Safe Place to store gear?

Is there a safe place to store gear you collect?

I left some excess on the floor of my office, came back after a mission and half was gone and half was on a new bench with a note from the janitor.

Next start, I took the GEP Gun at Liberty Island and then manage to drop it on top of my desk. Gone when I returned from a mission, Grrrrrr.

AFAIK the maps reset between missions, so I don't think there is a safe storage anywhere.

Typically not unless explicitly programmed by a mod author. You are running Shifter, which explicitly does what you describe. But typically not.

That isn't nice, but at least I know and wouldn't waste any more time on it.
