Another step closer to Deus Ex

Post by gamer0004 »

So I came across this LCD writing tablet (youtube vid) and it immediately reminded me of the datacubes in DX. I always thought those were a bit weird because they would be rather expensive... or so I thought. There is a sale right now, you can buy them for only €18! It's not unlikely that in 2052 we'll be using these things instead of paper notes.

A while ago I came across this: http://www.slashgear.com/philips-readus ... er-291269/ "Philips READUS Prototype Flexible E-Paper Reader" reminded me of a datacube that you can roll up. I don't know what happened to that though, if it will ever be or is reality.

Pretty cool. So many technologies which are developed but never brought to the market :(
But that's what makes the boogie board (stupid name BTW) special: it is actually on sale.

Its also like Xerox, they invented paper that erases itself sometime between 16-24 hours after something is printed on it: http://www.xerox.com/innovation/news-st ... /enus.html would save trees and be less wasteful for creating paperwork that didn't need to be retained long after printing. Also good for spy work too like what James Bond might use

I'll put them in the "toys it'd be cool to have but I don't need" category.

@gamer0004: I don't know if you non surfing cultures know, but a boogie board is small flat board used at the beach. Unless you use it to surf the web I can't see the relevance of it's name, except maybe it's a design thing.

That's one of the reasons why I thought it was a stupid name :)
