Coding enhancement for Deus Ex - My project idea

I have an idea for a mod to make Deus Ex feel better to play. After playing TNM, I got this idea as TNM adds a lot to the feel of the game play like what you can do on some computers. HDTP only makes the game look visually better, but what about code enhancements?

What things would be good for upgrading the player experience? First, I want to find out what things are good to be enhanced and I'll see what I can do from there. Ideas could be modifying the inventory so you can set hotkeys to items so you can equip them easily or security computer enhancements etc.

My Morpheus mod went as it was too complicated, I forgot some storyline and never thought it through enough, but I want to get this one right.

If possible, I don't want to modify any maps and want this to be compatible with HDTP in future too.

I have a few ideas of my own, and I know more about coding than mapping so thats why I had this idea:

1) Doing more to alter players appearance - might take a little work, but could be doable without too much being done- like choosing what glasses JC wears when you start game. Paul will stay the same for whatever face texture you choose for JC, just a few other things of JC will change, based on what you decide.

2) Maybe bioelectric cells being automatically used if player has one in inventory and loses 25% or more energy.

3) Something better with security cameras and security computers but that might take a little thought - Hotel Carone had a better HUD for security computers and adding a feature where you can, after setting a turret to "Allies" being able to control it and shoot hostiles I thought about, but as yet I don't know how to do that, but this is just ideas stage, that comes a little later after all ideas have been put down.

Well there is a few things different that shifter does that I don't want to do, like replaceable replaceable Augs, Alt fire, unique weapons and deadlier NPCs etc...

I just want to enhance the original game without adding new stuff like alt fire and deadlier NPCs and new weapons, for example, explosive 10mm ammo was never part of the origial Deus Ex so that something I don't want in my mod idea. A few improvements like weather effects to some maps and whatever else I can come up with.

Even if this mod is not used for the enhancement of Deus Ex, I want to make a mod that other people could use in their mods and so on.
